It doesn't matter how much you spend or how little you spend Bell helmets can't be beaten. Bell is definitely a premium helmet no question about it. I can't think of a single thing to say that is bad about it. This helmet is simply stellar. It is worth the money.

Let me start out by saying I am a big fan of the Bell Star. I have the Gobert replica and am wanting a carbon version as well. The ventilation is better than any other helmet I've owned, which includes Arai Corsair V, Shoei X-11, AGV GP Tech and Shark RSR2. The helmets are notorious for fitting one size large. I wear a medium in Arai, AGV and Shark and my Medium feels a bit roomy. I've never tried on a small but I can't believe that it might actually fit. My biggest grip is the quality of the liner. Compared to the other helmets mentioned, it doesn't "feel" as plus against the skin, which I would expect in a top-of-the-line helmet. The top liner and cheek pads do fit well, but the material is not as soft as other high-end helmets. None of that keeps me from still wanting a Bell Star Carbon Speed Freak though. I would definitely buy again and recommend to a friend.
It's a great bucket, with many insightful conveniences. For the money, I'd like to see more. The wind noise is my biggest gripe, yet the transitions lense option is my biggest praise. Mine fits great, and though the chin spoiler is great, there's still a lot of ear noise. Ventilation is great and negative forces keep the head from bobbin'.
