Unleash horsepower, torque and throttle response by controlling air / fuel mixture from injectors, especially after making any fuel-related modifications, including exhaust.

Developed in top level, professional racing, the Bazzaz Z-Fi Fuel Control Unit takes operational command of all fuel injectors, not just half like the competitors. This is a significant advantage in realizing the perfect tune, resulting in significantly better throttle response and overall engine performance.

  • Z-Fi is a plug-and-play unit that piggy-backs onto the stock ECU.
  • Each unit comes with a specific harness for each bike that utilizes O.E.M. connectors for simple installation.
  • Stores two modifiable fuel maps, one pre-programmed for your specific bike model with a slip-on exhaust.
  • The two maps are switchable 'on the fly' with the Map Selection Switch (sold separately).
  • Access the free Bazzaz Z-Mapper software to view and easily adjust fuel maps.
  • Featuring a USB interface with industry-recognized, easy-to-use software, the Z-Fi can be tuned at the bike or at a PC (powered by USB alone).
  • Continue on to pro race-level, custom fuel mapping with the Z-AFM air / fuel mapper that builds maps for your specific modifications and atmospheric conditions (sold separately).
  • Notes: For closed course competition use ONLY - NOT for street use. NOT certified by the California Air Resource Board (CARB) for use on CA highways.

Good FI control unit

Bought mine here 1 yr ago. ZFi Controller
At the time, the installation manual that came with the unit and the one available on the website were lacking some necessary information for DIY like myself to complete the installation w/o having to call Bazzaz's tech support. Thankfully, Bazzaz's tech support were very helpful and very easy to access over the phone. I recently downloaded the updated manuals and I see that they have added more pictures and information. They also have video instructions available on Youtube.
The wiring harness was very good quality, almost on par with the OEM. The best thing is, it's great that Bazzaz provided OEM style connector to the TPS, which is normally very difficult to access, unlike the wire tap that comes with DJPC. In contrast, Bazzaz provides wire tap for powering the ZFi controller, which is much easier to find and access power source wires. I only wished they labeled all the wires in the wiring harness for ease of identification.
The hardest part during the installation process on my GSXR600K8 was removing the primary injector connectors due to very tight access. Thankfully, the TPS connector can be easily accessed from the right side of the bike and easily removed with a flat head screwdriver. Otherwise, installation was pretty easy and straight forward.
Unfortunately, mine came down with an FI alert on injector #3 within 1 yr of use. Bazzaz Tech advised me with my troubleshooting. But when the alert kept going, Thanks to Bazzaz because because they came through with their warranty. They tested the defective ZFi unit and the wiring harness and sent me a new replacement ZFi controller and software within 2 business days.

Excellent product!

I've installed this unit three times with out any problems on three different gsxr 1000's. I do recommend finding a dyno that will tune a bazzaz system. The stock maps are just a guide. Every bike is a little different. This system runs great on my 2007 gsxr 1000 with the stock base map. I have the gp1 pipes. and a k&n air filter. I do need a little tuning. But otherwise its fine out of the box.

Overall 4 out of 5 stars

Probably better then the PC in that it can control all 8 injectors.

Even with the PC, youre getting lucky using the maps that come with the bike and they work well. Really need a dyno tune or at the VERY least, the auto tune.

If you add slip ons to a motorcycle do you need a power commander?

Generally with a slip on exhaust you will not need a programmer however some may. I would recommend installing the exhaust and riding the bike to see how it is running then tuning your bike from there if necessary.

I own a 2014 Honda CBR250R?
Can I fit this on my bike?

The Bazzaz Z-FI Fuel Control Unit would fit Honda CBR250R '11-13 US models. All products sold on are for US models only. We unfortunately do not have product fitment for non-us models. Also any street legal products are designed for US emissions and laws.

No you cannot transfer the Bazzaz Z-FI Fuel Control Unit to different makes/models/years of bikes. it is very make/model/year specific.
