Description Item #

Quickly build custom fuel maps while riding.

Collects data to adjust AFR for best performance for your specific bike. Your model, year, exhaust, filter, fuel type, engine wear, modifications, temperature, pressure, humidity...Now you can easily tune for all your specifics. The Z-AFM offers a revolutionary new level of fuel tuning by simply gathering data while riding and then processing the data into a custom-built, race-level fuel map.

Use technology. Not guesswork.

Benefits:

  • Wakes up performance with a pro-race level, immediate tune.
  • Crisp and responsive throttle.
  • Smooths out throttle transitions.
  • HP and torque gains.

How it Works:

  • Uses an oxygen sensor mounted in the exhaust to determine air / fuel ratio (AFR).
  • Collects data while riding to adjust AFR for your specific bike.
  • Plugs in with USB cord to retrieve and apply data in a few easy mouse clicks.

Who needs it?

  • Competitive riders who want their bike perfectly tuned for any track, any fuel, any mods.
  • Performance riders who want to keep their bike tuned simply for seasonal atmospheric and fuel changes.
  • Tuners who want to make dyno use quick and easy.

Notes: Not intended for street use. Requires a wide-band O2 sensor bung (18 mm diameter) in the exhaust's head pipe. If you do not already have a wide band bung, you will need to purchase one separately.

A: Yes. The Z-AFM kit consists of an air fuel sensor and amplifier box that plugs into any of the Z-Fi products, and allows for self-mapping of the motorcycle. Self-mapping means that as the user rides the bike,on the track or on a dynamometer, the Z-Fi automatically calculates the required fuel adjustment at each RPM and Throttle Position to reach the user selectable target air fuel ratio. The Z-Fi Mapper software allows for the user to easily enter the target air fuel ratio, start, stop, and review the results of the self-mapping function. Once the recommended adjustments have been reviewed, the user can either apply all of the suggested adjustments or just a certain range with a few simple clicks of the mouse. Also, feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

A: The Bazzaz Z-AFM self mapping kit is a universal product. It will fit multiple models of machines including carbureted models. It collects data to give you information oh how to adjust AFR for best performance for your specific bike and requires a wide-band O2 sensor bung (18 mm diameter) in the exhaust's head pipe. If you do not already have a wide band bung, you will need to purchase one separately.

A: This item would allow for self-mapping either on the track or on the dyno. You would still need to get the Bazzaz Performance Z-FI MX Fuel Management System for your bike in order for this to work correctly.

Q: Is this the only item you need to plug'n play or is this something in addition to something like a powercommander?

A: This is only the self mapping kit. It would also require the purchase of the Bazzaz Z-FI controller to complete the installation. Once you have both items the kit will be plug and play. When ordering the controller, please make sure to have your bike profiled properly as they are model specific.

A: This is about getting optimal performance on the fly. This allows the Z-Fi to self tune. It will affect your fuel economy but how much depends on the map you use.

A: Its like the auto tune from dynojet. It automatically tunes your bike while your riding. You have to have a bung welded in your headers for the 02 sensor. You will have a map switch so you can run 2 different maps if your not using auto tune. Its still best to get a custom map so the auto tune will tune off of that map.

A: Thats a question you'll really have to answer yourself. I'd get on the web site of both companies and start doing some research as to which company you feel the most comfortable with.

A: Are you going to tune it yourself or have a tech work on it? If someone else is working on it you will want to talk to them to see if they prefer one or the other. If you're doing it yourself check out each brands software. Also, Bazzaz offers a self mapping kit for the 08 gsxr, but Power Commander only has it for the 09. Just a few more things to consider.

A: I have the Power Commander V and could not be happier. Love it, smooths the power out. Also you can add other dyno jet products later down the road if you go with PCV.
