This item works as described, water proof, small enough to stay out of harms way, and installation is a snap. I bought the mounting bracket to go along with the hour meter. Both are quality products with no defects, no problems so far. It functions as an hour meter, keeping track in 10ths of an hour, and also works as a simple tachometer. I believe the maximum RPM cuts out in the 9000 range. Stop guessing when to change the oil, check the valve clearance, grease the bearings, etc,,,"
