D.I.D 428 NZ Gold Chain - 120 or 136 Links:

Pinning your bike out of every turn might tear apart the stock chain, but D.I.D and their 428NZ chain will not let you, or your race for first, down.

  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Renthal 428 R1 Chain - 120 or 130 Links:

Renthal's R1 Works Chain is a high-strength non O-ring chain with excellent impact load resistance designed specifically to withstand the stress found in off-road applications. This chain is the choice where a combination of high strength, light weight and maximum power transfer are important considerations.

  • Shot-peened alloy steel side plates for high tensile strength and maximum impact load resistance.
  • Chamfered inner links to reduce the chance of chain derailment.
  • Extended bushings to reduce friction between outer and inner link plates, maximizing power output.
  • Chromized bearing pins for excellent resistance to wear.
  • Gold color side plates help prevent corrosion.
  • Most perfectly matched chain for Renthal sprockets allowing maximum power at the rear wheel. This also extends the life of both the chain and sprockets.
  • Average tensile strength of 4,609 pounds.
  • Maximum displacement (street / off-road): N/A / 150cc.
  • Each chain includes master link and a pair of latex gloves for mess free installation.
  • 120 or 130 links.
  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Dont know yet

Its been raining every weekend since I received my sprocket kit which came with the front sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain, so I have not had the chance to test the durability. However the chain was too long and I will have to either send it back for the right length or take two links out my self. Everything else mounted correctly and looks great.

Great buy

Rear sprocket looks plain as OE, but no complaints for the price. I opted for the HD chain and am glad I did. Best product out there for a budget driven weekend rider.

Good for price

I boght this kit for y crf450 and no matter what i get even if i go with the o ring chain i still seem to go through a set of chain AND sprockets ever 8 to ten rides. I cant beat the price though and last just as long as the more expensive ones for me.

Wears like iron

You just can't beat steel. I've had the same Turner front and rear sprockets on my 2002 YZ250 for years now and they show extremely little wear. I've gone through several chains and have kept the same sprockets because they just never seem wear out! I've compared my used sprockets side-by-side with a new one and the teeth look great. The weight savings offered from an aluminum sprocket are negigible compared to the cost savings and time saving (from not having to change out sprockets) offered by these. I ride and race hard and I depend on Turner steel sprockets to hold up. I will never put anything else on my bike.

Who needs style points?

I'm old enough to not care about a cool looking aluminum rear sprocket that doesn't last very long. If you are like me, save yourself a bunch of money and buy this kit. So what if it looks stock, it's going to last way longer than expensive aluminum sprockets. Better yet, get the steel sprocket and spend extra on an o-ring chain, yeah!

No, this chain and sprocket kit is not made for your 2012 BMW G 650GS. Unfortunately, I do not show any sprockets we would carry for your specific bike.

Turner Steel Sprocket & Chain Kit with 13/51?
Hi, Is it possible to get this kit but with a 51 sprocket instead? Will that work with a 120 link chain? Thanks Carl
Expert MotoSport Staff
2 months 16 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The largest Turner Rear Sprocket available for your bike would be a 50 tooth. I would recommend taking a look at the JT Steel Chain and Sprocket kit for your 2004 Yamaha YZ125 as it would be available with a 51 tooth rear sprocket. Also, the 120 Link Chain should be long enough for that sprocket combo, you may need to remove links from the chain actually. ( http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/JT-STEEL-CHAIN-AND-SPROCKET-KIT )

Not sure what chain i need for my 89 honda cr250???
I ride in woods, sand and probably 3 to 4 times a year
MotoSport Staff
Over 7 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
For off road and sand riding typically you would go with a an O-ring or X-ring chain. The best bang for your buck is the Renthal R3 O-ring chain. The o-ring chains require less maintenance and help seal out contaminants such as sand and mud for the off road guys extending the life of the chain.

I wanna run my 400ex on both highway and offroad, what would u suggest for my sprockets and chain?
MotoSport Staff
Over 10 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Steel rear sprockets will be the way to go for longevity. The aluminum ones tend to wear out about 3 times quicker. Also when picking the chain, the o-ring and x-ring chains will be of higher quality and since the internal rollers are sealed, will last longer also. The gearing will be completely up to you and you will need to determine whether you would like more top end speed or better low end acceleration. If you give us a call we are more than happy to go over over all the different options available for chains and to help with choosing a gearing combination that will work with your style of riding.

What chain do i need with a 12 front and 41 rear ?
MotoSport Staff
Over 12 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
As long as you don't have an extended swingarm any of the chains will work. With that gearing on a Raptor 660 any of the chains will need to be cut to length as they come in standard bulk lengths of 100, 110, and 120. For your application I would recommend the DID ATV X-ring chain. It is specifically designed for the atvs and being an X-ring chain, will last longer than the other models.

What size chaine would i need if i put a 41t sproket on my 01 yamaha warrior?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
hard to say exactly, you didn't list out what your putting on the front. Basically all the chains we sell are going to be cut at 110-120 links so most likely you will have to remove some links
