Throttle response
I installed this on my 2005 RMZ 250. it definitly improved the throttle response a little but no real big power boosts here. overall if you are looking for something to give you an edge, then yes this will work. if your looking for huge power gains, buy a bigger bike

I think it works good
I installed this sytem on my '05 yfz450 along with the modquad airsystem, motoworks exhaust, and boyesen qs2. The QS2 is supposed to smooth out the power band down low and I definately felt the improvement and I think the Power Now system smoothed out the rest of the power band throughout the entire rpm range and in every gear.

Power now and plus
I put this in my cr250 years ago and felt a bit better pull. I put the now and plus in my CR450R and did not notice much, slight better pull. On the dyno there is not power gain. I had my engine dyno pre and post and their is nothing. The ads of 1hp claim is truely not true! When I spoke to Boysen the even admitted to less than a 1/4hp and said the plus insert adds nothing. For the money spent you are better off adding a CAM where you can feel and dyno real power. Also you do lose the ability to adjust the air screw on 4 strokes - thats right! you must leave the air screw open to 2 turns out, if you do not, the bike will have hard starting! That is a fact that is writen in the documentatin from the vendor. When i purchase a new bike next year I will have the engine done with a cam and not spend money on this device. For those reviews claiming tons of power, I ask did you have it dyno? Every engine builder will tell you you will not see anything on a dyno, but I will say it does seem to provide a slight pull ability from gear to gear. Spokes574

I just installed the power now system on my 2006 yz450f and it made a huge difference in low end power and up through mid range. You can feel the pull all the way through. Highly recommended. I also put a DR.D exhaust on and together this bike is like they say SCARY FAST.

This product is very easy to install and adds tons of power. It eliminates the bottom end boog that the 4 strokes tend to have.

Yep, all you need to do it pull the carb and insert the blade and reassemble everything. It's pretty straight forward.

How would it affect the bog i have in my yz144? would it work well with a k&n air filter installed?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
It should help mellow out the bog quite a bit in the lower end. Yes, it will work well with the k&n as well.

Can they be used with V-Force 3 reed spacer?
Have a Kawi KX 250 2-stoke with PC pipe system and the V-force reeds so have plenty of bottom end. How do these affect 2-strokes and can they be used with v-force system?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
They effect the 2 strokes like they do the 4 strokes, so mainly it's just going to boost the throttle response and bottom end. Yes you can run these with the V-Force system.

So this has more than just the one power now piece and should the bike be rejetted or no?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
Yes this includes two pieces one blade for the intake side and one blade for the exhaust side of the carb. As far as jetting goes you might have to install the pieces and see how it responds and take it from there.
deadinisde Over 5 years ago
