Not For the Weekend warrior
This is a great product if you want to have a light weight sprocket but, if you are just a weekend warrior and don't want to have to change your sprocket every couple of rides I would look into getting a steel sprocket. I had this one for not to long before it started to wear away from the chain and becoming deformed. Would recommend for someone that is very competitive but not a weekend fun rider.

Classic Sprockets
Renthal sprockets are used by most racing teams and have been on the forefront of racing for a long time. I've always run them with great results and I think most people have had similar experiences. They are aluminum and will not last as long as steel, but they will last as long or longer than any aluminum sprocket on the market.

Only the best from Renthal!
My son races motocross, with each track changing from clay, rocks, sand and more, this is all we will run. The self cleaning grooves prove to be a must! We pair the sprockets with D.I.D. Chains for a problem free dependable performance.

Renthal sprockets
Not very happy with the renthal sprockets. I have changed 3 renthal sprockets on my sons 2011 crf250r. to my 1 protaper sprocket on my 2005 crf450r. All in one years worth of riding. Sprockets were changed with front sprockets and a chain every time.

Size chain?
what size chain best fits a 50 teeth rear sprocket on a 04 yz 85?
ty22 2 years 12 months ago
The teeth on my sprocket seem kinda at an angle is that how they are made or is it worn?
MotoSport Staff
2 years 11 months ago Location: Tualatin
nope, those are definitely worn and in need of replacement. anytime a sprocket has an angle or hook to it, it's time to replace it.

The teeth begin to bend at an angle when the chain becomes too worn. You should replace the sprocket and chain.

If i have a renthal rear sprocket 150v 520 49t will that fit my 1986 yamaha yz490?
Expert MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: USA
I was able to cross reference the sprocket for a yz490 fitting the same as a 98 Wr400F as part number: 131U-520 So I don't believe the part number you gave will fit.

I just asked about the cr250 underneath, for more bottom end/acceleration james sed add 2 teeth, but i have the stock sprocket which is 50t...?
should i bu a 49t for more bottom end or use my 50t, if u know what would change with the 50t let me know please, thank you
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
If you already have a 50T use that over the 47T you mentioned in your first question. You will notice a huge difference in low end torque from the 47T to the 50T.

I got 04 cr250, i have 47t and stock is 50t. what size should i get for more bottom-mid end power for riding mx/sx tracks?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
To gain more acceleration/bottom end, you will need to go up in teeth on the rear sprocket. 2 teeth are noticeable and 1 tooth will make a slight difference.
