Super deal on the set...
" Renthal is IMHO the best in the business. The handlebars are great, and this chain/sprocket combo continues the tradition. Both sprockets bolted right on with no drama, and the chain is wearing well with minimal stretch. Just be sure to torque the rear sprocket bolts properly, use locktite on them, and re-check them after a few rides as they may loosen a bit. "

Good for the price
" For racing good chain, I always have used the gold DID chain but thought i would try this one. Its a lot better than stock. I raced all year with it in the +25 pro and +30 pro classes with no problems. The DID is stronger though because i could use a regular chain break to get the link out no problem. The gold DID you have to grind them off first or you will break the chain breaker. But this one is 10 dollars cheaper and easier to put on. I will probably go back to the DID chain but never broke this one so i cant complain about it, i finished all my races. "

" And they do! This chain looks great with its gold outer plates, and it performs just as what you would expect from a Renthal Gold Chain! Spend the money now and you won't be sorry. This chain has great wear characteristics and I still have yet to adjust it after installation with new Renthal chainwheels. I've had about 5 hours of riding now and no adjustment needed. Just spray some Maxima Chain Wax on their and you're good to ride! "

Good disposable chain
" 2006 YZ450F - If you are looking for a lighweight chain that will only last as long as your aluminum sprocket, this is a good choice. My last one didn't even make it as long as my sprocket did (maybe 20 hours). The side to side slack is so bad, that I have to put a new one on. I have run a number of these over the years, they have all stretched, you just plan for it and keep up on the maintenance. I have never had one fail on me and they look good on the bike. "

Will this chain fit a 52 tooth sprocket? If not, which one will
Asked by Russell114, Aransas Pass, TX
This chain will work with a 52T sprocket with links to spare.
Answered by james718
Why is the R1 chain not suitable for enduro racing?
Asked by KX500Freak, Texas
It's a non-o-ring chain that is why.
Answered by james718
Do I have to take out links for it to fit my 47 tooth rear sprocket?
Asked by dooberboss, H.B. CA
Most likely you will have to remove a couple links.
Answered by Drewski, Portland, OR
Does this chain come with a masterlink?
Asked by DaveG, Missouri
yes, every chain we sell comes with some type of master link.
Answered by james718
Yes, chain comes with a master link located inside the box.
Answered by burnzy, salina ks
i get that its non o ring
Asked by Snake, Winters CA
well there's no reason why you could use it for any type of riding. It's a durability issue, and when you are riding in all types of conditions from wet to dry you'll be replacing a non-oring chain very often.
Answered by james718
if my stock chain is 92 links, am i okay getting 120 links and taking some out. I am increasing the rear sprocket from 40 to 41 teeth on my 2002 rapt
Asked by blizo
Yes, all of our chains are cut to fit so breaking off a couple links will be ok.
Answered by Drewski, Por+land
is renthal reliable
Asked by morin, portland connecticut
Personally I've always had good luck with all my Renthal products. It's all about finding what works best for the type of riding you are doing. Since they make their sprockets out of aluminum and the R1 chain you are looking at is a motocross/supercross style chain, it's probably not going to be the best set up for heavy trail riding or dune riding. You may want to look into a chain more suitable for trails.
Answered by Drewski, P+RTLAND
Well he needs to get his facts straight very reliable
Answered by yz250rider38, Star Tannery Virgina
I was brought up to pick good friends who dont lie to me. And it appears that is exactly what your friend is doing to YOU!!! Renthal is a great brand for everything they make. shoot i even use their brake pads. the truth is that when you buy something that says Renthal on it, it IS going to be very high quality and very durable. Sprockets, bars, brake pads, and yes even chains. you name it, you cant go wrong with Renthal. Good Luck!
Answered by burnzy, salina ks
Tuner sporcket kit
Asked by Kaleb
you will most likely need to take out links but since I don't know what bike you are putting them on it's hard to tell you for sure.
Answered by JesseC, Tualatin
if your using the same size sprockets that are already on your bike, just count the links in your old chain and use the same amount for your new one. if your old sprockets have different amounts of teeth than your new ones, you may need to cut it down, or get a bigger chain.
Answered by burnzy, salina ks
since its corrosion resistance, does this mean it can never rust?
Asked by YZ125RYDER
This chain can rust if not lubricated. This is a steel chain, not an O-ring chain. These chains will stretch, they are lighter than an O-ring but will not last as long as an O-ring chain. If you are racing at a pro level the steel chain is a good choice if you race for fun and like to ride, get the O-ring
Answered by bang, I Live in Adams TN Race 25 times a year Vet AM
How many links
Asked by xXR1ITUPXx, Denton,TX
It really depends on the gearing you are running. The stock length should be 114 links, but you may have to count the links if you've changed your gearing any to get a solid answer.
Answered by Drewski, P+RTLAND
the chain you're buying has 120, and that will fit your bike. if your sing arm is too short its easy to take off a couple links.
