Great upgrade!
" Major difference when the intake and exhaust are added as a set. The low end torq benefits the most from the installation. "

Just as advertised
" I bought a set of these cams (intake and exhaust) for my '07 YZ250F. They boosted the low and mid just a bit. I noticed just a minute amount of over-rev loss. But, the loss was barely noticable. These cams work good. Although, I have heard the stage 2 work the best for the Yamaha. "

You are looking a 1 Hot Cam Stage 1 Exhaust Cam. If you want to replace both, you will also need to look for the Hot Cam Stage 1 Intake cam.

great mid to high end range increases.

can you please explain to me the difference in intake vs exhaust and what the do?
Asked by kfx400racer, Arkansas
Cam's control the opening of the valves. some 4strokes come with dual cams or single cams. Yamaha for instance has 2 cams, one for the exhaust and one for the intake. By changing the cams out detunes or tunes the bike performace to better cater to a specific need a rider might be looking for. After market cams differ in lobe durations compared to the stock OEM. Cam technology can take years to understand, so read up on this subject if you want to know more.

Excellent midrange & top-end power increase.

whats the difference between stage one and stage three?
Asked by crfdirtrider
depending on the bike a stage 1 will increase the bottom to mid or just the mid for better throttle snap. Usually the stage 3 is reserved for big bore kits.

difficulty to install?
Asked by originalgangster
I can only speak for my XP with an older XR650Ls, these are my ticket and have built a few now. This is a top flight product and it woke my bikes up drasticly. They did wake up the bottom end just a hint, but what a rocket as she builds! The stage one is great for the average to expert weekend warrior, but with the top end cam the phrase "twist as shout" realy comes to mind. When I used the stage three I did the works, porting, pipes, jetting, ignition, compression and boreing. Big money, and got a bike I sold that winter. TOO FAST !!! With my aplications, I had to remove the motor to do the job correctly, but once that was done and the motor secured to my bench, it was quite simple. You do need to review how to unload the cam chain tensioner/s, but that is the only hick-up for install. YES it WILL mess with the way the bike runs and the jeting requirements. More power, more fuel! I sugjest you find a forum (Thumper Racing works for me time and time again.) and ask questions and they should be able to give you base line start jeting. From there is up to you and how you ride. READ THE PLUG !!!! Tan is good, black is too much fuel, nearly white, to little. Good luck!! Old Thumper Dude

Can i use my stock intake cam with the exaust cam from hotcams stage 1?
Asked by fastrmz
I wouldn't recommend running an aftermarket cam and oem cams at the same time. The curvature will be off and may cause the bike to not run properly.
Answered by james718, USA
not sure
Asked by hhhhhhhhh
if you are looking for more power, get both cams.
