great looking pipe, easy to install but the bolts that they send with the pipe are too short so keep your factory ones for an easier install. Sounds awesome loud deep growl, seems to help with throttle response a little. But overall great pipe and well worth the money.
I love this pipe, put it on in 10 minutes and sounds great. Realy deep and loud and gives you a boost you can feel. Ive had it for one day and already got stopped from complaints about noise. You dont have to jet your carb. with this pipe but good idea to do it anyways
pretty good pipe but it is extremely loud and there are alot of parks that have a decibal requirement and even with the quiet core its still to loud. If i were to buy a another pipe it would be the big gun eco system they sound great and you can still ride where ever you want. And i didnt really notice a difference in power just noise.
You will more than likely want to re-jet your ATV for better performance with this pipe. Usually when just going with a slip-on exhaust you only will need to make minor adjustments if your ATV is properly jetted for your location/altitude/temperature already.
The jetting can vary based upon your location and what elevation you tend to ride at. Your best is to purchase a jet kit which will include a jetting guide to help jet for your location. The other option is contact the exhaust manufacturer for the recommended jetting specs. HMF can be reached at (216) 631-6980
Since the FMF megabomb can replace the stock header it should be very close. The issues will lie in the manufacturing tolerances between the two companies and it may not be a perfect fit. We would recommend going with an FMF slip on if you are currently using one of their headers.
That would depend on what exhaust you currently have installed. If it is an aftermarket exhaust you may not need to re-jet. If it is still the stock exhaust, more than likely, you will be on the lean side after installing this and will need to re-jet. This can vary, and will also depend on your elevation and if the bike is jetted properly in its current form.
When adding an exhaust system to your Renegade 500 it is going to lean the fuel mixture out. Depending on your location/elevation you may run into issues with it becoming too lean which can cause internal engine damage. Typically it is recommended to install a tuner so you are able to map the unit perfectly and not run into issues with it being to lean. Some models can get away without running a tuner but it really depends on your location and how the Fuel injection is currently mapped.
