I had my stock header crack, and with Motosport's excellent service I had this Powerbomb delivered within 2 days! Pretty smooth installment, and even a noticable power difference!

Doesnt fit

pay the extra $20 for the stock pipe. burns your leg and doesnt fit stock muffler. comes with a spacer because the tube is smaller in diameter and exhaust flow out the spacer. also the "power bomb" does nothing in performance. is the same diameter tube all the way through. power bomb is just to get you to buy it. get the stock pipe.

I got the fmf powerbomb header for my kx450. It took all of ten minutes to install. The power deliver seems to be smoother and you don't loose much on the top end. I would without a second thought buy another one. The only down fall with this header is it turned the ugliest bronze color I have ever seen within the first two rides. But that can be expected just wish it turned a little nicer and not so visible bronze. other then that what a great product and Motosport was fast and accurate with the delivery time. My next parts I will go through them instead of the other guys.

No need for megabomb!

i decided to go with the powercore 4 slip-on and purchase the powerbomb header separately, which made a full system, and was much cheaper than buying a full system. my 07 crf250r had huge gains righ out of the box with this exhaust, sounded and looked much better also. throw on a K&N filter and a FMF (DJ) jet kit and your bike will roar! the powerbomb gave much added power, and i dont think you'll get much more out of the megabomb, and the extra cost isn't worth it.

Remarkable difference

Made a huge difference in the bottom end for power. Didn't think I needed it, but it helps a great deal. anyone ordering the FMF muffler should purchase the header too.

Can i match this header to a stock silencer and if so, will it require jetting changes?

No. This header will only work with FMF Slip-On Exhaust Systems. It will not work with your OEM Mid-Pipe/Muffler.

Could I use a two brothers pipe with this header?
MotoSport Staff
Over 5 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Under most circumstances, the FMF Powerbomb will replace an OEM header. With that said, the manufactuing tolerances between the two companies may not create a perfect fit and unfortunately this is an unknown until it is actually tried. It should work just fine but cannot be guaranteed.

Does this systym also need a muffler added to it?
MotoSport Staff

Yes, you will still need to use an exhaust. This is just the header.

maybe jeting but they will tell you in instructions for your bike. all i had to do was adjust my fuel screw. hope this helps.

Depending on your bikes current jetting, in addtion to your location and elevation, jetting may be required. You can purchase a jet kit with a jetting guide specific to your bike from FMF that will help set it properly. FMF could also be contacted directly and with your elevation they can recommend jetting for your bike. Other than jetting this will be a direct bolt and no other modifications will be required.

Will this fit my 2006 CRF450r stock pipe?
I dented my header real bad, about the size of a half dollar, need to know if it will fit my stock pipe so I can keep riding, or do I have to wait and buy the header with new pipe and be out for the rest of the season?
MotoSport Staff
Over 10 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
On your 2006 CRF450r this will work with your stock muffler. It will also work with any of FMF's slip-ons, so down the road you can fit one of those to the bike also without issue.

Kx250f fmf powercore 4 slip on fit with this? Also will i need to rejet?
Top 25 Contributor Top 50 Contributor
Over 11 months ago Location: Spokane, WA, USA
yes the fit i am running the same setup on my 09 yz450 there is a alum. shim that come with to shim up the header to pipe works well no leaks.
MotoSport Staff
Over 11 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Yes this header will work with the Powercore 4 for sure. The jetting will depend on how well you are jetted right now. If the jetting is spot on you may have enough room to just get away with tuning the fuel screw. Even if you have a recommended baseline, jetting can vary day to day and even morning to afternoon if you are incredibly picky. In closing it may require jetting changes depending on your set up. Watch for black smoke (too rich) and popping on deceleration ( too lean) to determine if it will need to be jetted differently.

Will this fit the vance and hines xcr slip on?
MotoSport Staff
1 year ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Due to these not being from same manufacturer it may not be an exact fit. The FMF headers will work with stock slip-ons but the stock slip-ons also have a crush gasket which allows some extra play when initially fitting the exhaust. This gasket can be crushed down with the exhaust clamp to create a correct seal between the two portions of the exhaust system.
