Vertex Four-stroke Pistons:

When it comes to power and performance, Vertex four-stroke pistons are hard to beat. Forged from the highest quality 2618 aluminum alloy, Vertex pistons are perfectly suited to handle the rigors and high pressures of today's modern four-stroke engines. Plus, to aid in the break-in process and reduce wear, every Vertex piston utilizes a unique Molybdenum Disulphide (MOS2) coating on the piston skirt.

  • Bore size: 82.95 mm.
  • Compression ratio: 10.25:1.
  • With the purchase of a premium quality piston, every Vertex piston kit contains a complete set of nitride-coated or chrome-plated piston rings, a fully case-hardened wrist pin and circlips - all at a competitive price.

Awesome!

Easy Installation, Easy to break in and comes with everything you need to freshen up that top end. Have about 6 hours on it in my 06 crf250 and its still going strong. Great performance and definitely know what my next piston will be too!

Yz250f?
Would i have to get my cylinder serviced if i installed this 1 ring piston? Compared to the oem 3 ring design? Will the ring seat properly with the previous wear pattern?

There is no special servicing required for this piston versus a stock piston. Depending how much time is on the cylinder, it may be a good idea to run a quick hone through it to clean it up before installing this piston. That is very hard for me to determine though without seeing the current condition of the cylinder. Other than that though, again, no special requirements.

Whats the best aftermarket high compression piston for my KTM 350 SXF?

Any of the aftermarket pistons are going to be good. I would have no problem recommending any of the major manufacturers such as, Wiseco, JE, CP or Vertex. Each engine builder will have his own preference, but realistically they are all pretty similar. Personally i have always used Wiseco Pistons in my bikes.

Compression Ratios and Hi comp option?
Is this the correct compression ratio? The Vertex website offers a OEM replacement (13.2:1 for Honda CRF 250R 2010) and a high compression for 14.1:1. I'm not sure where the 13.6:1 comes from but it seems like a happy medium if its correct.

If you order this piston for a 2010 CRF250R you will receive a 13.2:1 compression piston.
