Riding and racing motorcycles is serious business - even for the kids. There is no doubt their growing knees need and deserve protection, and the Asterisk Germ Knee Protection System is ready to do the job. Revolutionary design meets simple, stress-free fastening to create a comfortable and user-friendly brace for the pros of tomorrow. Sometimes the bike needs protection too so Asterisk has added a special guard to the hinge area. (Your riding pants and tank graphics will thank you!)
A.N.I. Frame: Anatomically correct design. Glass fill Nylon 6 Injected composite. Rigid and lightweight, impact distributing structure.
Symmetri-Glide Hinge: Tracks the natural "rolling-gliding" motion of the knee joint. Accurate track hole pattern. Adjustable external regulators from 10° to 30°.
Anti-Rotation Tether: Links the brace to the boot, making them as one. Transfers forces of a lower leg rotation. Adjustable to suit each individual.
Straps: Standard adjustable strapping.
Tele-Tri Patella Cup: Telescoping three-piece design. High impact Nylon 6 material. Full range of motion coverage of the knee cap. Thermo-Formed EV50 shock absorbent foam padding.
Dual Stage Padding: Neoprene lined frame for greater comfort. Comes in two thicknesses to accommodate leg growth. Two sizes of joint pads for individual adjustment.
Water-Resistant: Non-corrosive metals. Non-corrosive composites. Hand washable soft materials.
Undersleeves (included with braces): Conically tapered cut to match the legs' natural contour. Ventilated mesh promotes air flow. Reduces heat build up by wicking moisture away from skin. Flat stitched quad seam for a smooth, durable finish. Durable fold-over elastic band.
Sold as a pair.
Note: Germ comes with a Red frame with black plastic components.
This is the second set of Asterisk knee braces I've purchased for my son. This new design is even better than the first set and they were very good. My son loves the fit and comfort of these Asterisk braces. A must for all kids riding MX.

Asterisk Germ Youth Knee Braces
Extremely difficult to work with. I tried putting them on my 10 year old and it took forever! Then when we thought we had it I had him walk around and they started slipping down his leg! Horrible for kids to deal with!

ASTERISK GERM YOUTH KNEE BRACES
First, these braces will protect your knee. My son does like them and says they are comfortable. It is also clear they protect exceptional knee protection.
However, for the price, I was disappointed. When I received them, on of the clips was broken and one of the velcro attachments was screwed up. All fixable and not worth returning but for the price you expect more from a product.
Additionally, the braces have these poorly secured rubber pads that fall out easily. After having the braces a short time it is clear you will loose this as some point. I am sure it is replaceable, loosing it would just be a pain. Additionally, the braces have 4 clips to adjust the brace at 10, 20 or 30 degree lockout. These clips are smaller than a dime and come off easily. Another small part to loose.
There are just too many peaces to loose to recommend this for a kid.

Very well built, does what it says it was designed to do. Very adjustable to suit when needed.
The Mid Kneecap measurement should be the basis for the size. To ensure a proper fit, circumference measurements should be taken directly on the skin with the leg straightened, using a soft tape measure. (If a soft tape measure is not available, a piece of string or yarn may be used to calibrate the leg’s diameter, then measured against a hard tape measure). Locate the middle of the kneecap and measure around the leg. Measurements should be taken directly on the skin with a straight leg.
