First off, I LOVE Motosport.com, I buy lots of my stuff do to their excellent costumer service. But this tire has not been a great experience for me. Running it on a crf450r. Is it cheap? Yes, so that's a plus. It did mount up easy, look good, gets good traction on a variety of different terrain and the tread life is real good even with some pavement use too. But the beads are not good. Took a while to get the bead to set, finally did and was good for a couple months. But they the bead kind of broke, its like the wires inside snapped and the bead formed a V in that spot and will no longer work. I had been happy with the tread, enough so that I planned to buy another one just to have on hand but am glad I didn't now. This wasnt a hard ridden tire either.
Running it on my CRF230F.....My second set of these tires, the first set exceeded my expectations, lasted longer and hooked up better than I expected....Will continue to buy these as long as the price stays low....A lot of tire for the money!
I got these to put on a post vintage bike, they should get the job done.
I thought being inexpensive tire it wouldn't be great, but thought I would try it. Wow I was shocked went camping and rode over 250 miles of all sorts terrain. And held up great no chunking no chipping. Worth buying again
Good tire for the money my last set seem to hold up better this set seem to wear out faster..
I was really hoping to be in love with this tire, but the minute I saw the tire I was disappointed at how shallow the tread looked. For what they describe as a "enduro" tire I was expecting a deep, rock chewing monster, I would say the tread is close to half the depth of what you find in say the Perelli or Maxxis.
But I am a fan of a deal and I was willing to give Artrax a shot.
I am about 4 rides in now and already flipping the tire for what will likely be the last 2 rides before I swap it.
Typically I would expect to get 12 or so rides before reversing the tire.
I think if you are on a tight budget Artrax is a decent solution, but I would not buy the SE3, I know I have seen other models by Artrax with deeper tread for the same discount price.
I bought the SE3 front tire at the same time and for comparison it is still in great shape and very impressive tread from the onset, but this rear would never be a good solution for any serious rider.
I purchased this and the matching front with heavy duty tubes. As always shipping was fast and on time, I was a little concerned about mounting them due to previous reviews but because of the way motosport packages them (4 spacers) the sidewalls were not pressed together way easier to get your fingers in for tube install all that aside they mounted nice beads seated properly ,now test ride up and down the street on a KTM 450sxf tires felt good perhaps a bit loose feeling, then I remembered that I had 40psi in them ,out on the trail the trails were quite dry and marbley I was having some issues with my cr500 getting decent traction but the KTM was literally on rails couldn't be happier and will recommend highly
I have ran the SE3 tire combo this year at both King of the Motos and this past weekend at the Last Dog Standing, both with finishing results not to mention many just as gnarly trail rides. The sidewalls of this tire are on the stiffer side but this allows me to run a low air pressure with heavy duty tubes or mousses to get maximum flex and footprint from the knobbies. The SE3 really works for what I need it to perform in and at an incredibly low price compared to other tires of the same spec. Thanks Motosport!
I was told about Artrax tires from a fellow Boise Ridge Rider that has been through three sets. You cannot go wrong with the price. I have rode on them about 10 times (30 plus mile rides) working on the trails for the Idaho City 100 and they have been great. They seem to be wearing well and hook up great in everything from wet, dry, and rocky Idaho single track trails.
I ran this tire at a local X country race in the mud and overalled by 7 minutes. Everyone was saying how slick and how they couldn't maneuver the technical sections due to traction. Thanks for a great product that is affordable.
Tried other artrax tires and was pleased, this one not so much
Bill, CMX , Two local high-point championships, what more can i say!!!! I sell and back these tires 100%!!!!!
Come and see us @ Mt View MX Park Sandy OR .
WILL HOOK YOU UP!!!!!!
Bought these thinking they would get through a group ride weekend. Well it has been four long weekends. 900 miles plus and still look good. Will buy again for my other bikes
It may be a fluke but I blew a sizable hole in the sidewall after only 20miles. I can't hardly blame it on rocks because we hadn't rode through many. Hopefully it was a fluke, but maybe they have a soft sidewall...
I buy these Artrax tires because they're cheap. I'm a mature intermediate/advanced rider who mostly rides trails and hills and these tires do a great job for me. They wear the same as any name brand tire I have used. I would recommend them to anyone who rides a variety of terrain. I get good traction up the hills as well as high speed turns. Overall its a high quality tire for a low cost.
Tried it on dry trails, worked excellently, got on a MUDDY track, worked just as well, still wanting to ride it on rocky roads, suspect it will work just as well, getting more comfortable that it will hook up when I need it to, Great tire for the Price!
I put the artrax Xc tire on for an awrcs Harescramble and ran 2 hours. The tire only lasted for that time, after the race I had lost about an 1/8th inch of tread, the digging edge was rounded over, and I lost a few nubs. The tire was not worth the money but would be great if you get new tires every race.
I purchased this tire to use at the Loretta Lynn spring trail ride to save my new Pirellis from getting destroyed. Loretta Lynn's is full of sharp rocks that shred tires like crazy so I used this as a sacrificial tire if you will.
I wasn't expecting much for a 50.00 dollar tire but when it arrived it looked really well made and the rubber felt good.
Mounting was fine (not as easy as some but easier than many). I got the 110/90-19 and it was a little narrower than a name brand, perhaps order a size larger next time. The SE3 claims to be FIM approved and it looks looks a Michelin FIM enduro tire, kinda. Not sure why you would copy that but...
There was plenty of traction all weekend so no idea how it would perform in a tough situation, my guess is just fine.
I will definitely be buying these again especially for dual sport rides where there's lots of road riding. Great value and performance!
For the price its a great tire!
Unfortunately we do not have specifications on the Baja models.
