Like all Alpinestars footwear, they fit a bit narrow for their size. That's good, because so do my feet. All of the plastic bracing and armor on these boots, as well as the long and thick toe sliders make you look as goofy as any other race gear, but I'll say from experience that it all serves good purpose. After two crashes at the track, one low speed, the other high speed, I owe the health of my heels and ankles to these boots. All of that plastic bracing around the ankles really does its job well, without getting in your way. The Gore-Tex certification of these boots is no mere marketing ploy - they keep your feet nice and dry, even in torrential rain. The cuff inside the boot fits tight around the lower leg of your pants, diverting water around and outside the inner boot. The massive toe sliders are great to have, as I tend to burn through the thinner sliders on the S-MX 5 in a single race. These hang together for a full weekend. The down side to the sliders on these boots, is that Alpinestars does not make a magnesium replacement for them, like they do for the S-MX 5 and Supertech R.
