Not impressed

I have had a Yana Shiki H4 HID installed in my SV1000 for about two years and 20,000 miles. The H4 HID bulb actually consists of a HID bulb for the low-beam and a smaller regular halogen for the high-beam. Up until a month ago it has been awesome, then the HID began having trouble starting and staying lit.

The first thing I noticed when I received this product was that it wasn't identical to the one I got in the kit. The original had a metal base, this one was plastic, and the wires on the original were significantly (6-7") longer than this replacement.

Long story short - I replaced the original bulb with this one, had the same problem, so I drove with the high-beam on for awhile instead. The high beam partially melted the base and burnt out within 50 miles.

Great buy

i bought this replacement bulb because my previous bulb was accidentally broken when I was working on my headlight. I ordered the bulb and whats cool is that the bulb has a adapter that connects to the headlight harness so that you are not confused with the old style of connecting (Inserting the positive and ground wire into the headlight harness which could cause a blown fuse if you insert them into the wrong connection)
