Wiseco Pro-Lite High-Compression 4-Stroke Piston

Product Description

Important note: This piston is for a stock sized bore. Please measure your cylinder to check clearance before ordering.

Wiseco leads the performance aftermarket by producing the highest quality forged pistons in the U.S.A. Wiseco is unique because they forge all of their own pistons in-house, and produce all of their own forge tooling in the U.S.A. This allows Wiseco to control all aspects of their manufacturing process from raw bar to skirt coating on the finished parts.

Extreme racing conditions demand the strength and toughness that only forged pistons can offer. Compared to cast pistons, forgings are tougher and more durable, and will stand up to the abuse that high performance motorsport applications require. Most castings are brittle, have no grain structure and tend to fail catastrophically when the material yield strength is exceeded. Forgings have condensed grain that is aligned to the features of the part, which produces higher mechanical properties, and resistance to impact and fatigue. Each forging is designed to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio, and maximize performance.

Wiseco Pro-Lite motorcycle pistons are forged using the highest quality materials available resulting in a piston that provides excellent performance and durability. The Wiseco Pro-Lite piston features a race-ready dome finish with smooth edges for improved combustion flow. The rings, wrist pin, and circlips are manufactured by Wiseco under their strict quality standards to make sure every piston kit fits correctly, ensuring top performance is achieved.

  • Bore size: 96 mm (Stock).
  • Compression ratio: 11.5:1.
  • Much stronger than stock.
  • Tight tolerances for quiet running.
  • More hours with peak performance between piston changes.
  • All Pro-Lite pistons include rings, wrist pin and circlips.

Wiseco piston, first service Std Bore, CRF250R

I thought this was going to be a tough job, but found out it was easy. All the parts fit perfect, even the ring gaps were within specs and needed no filing. Bike started right up and is as strong as ever. Great product and will use it again.

Excellent Product

We just installed this item on our 08' YZ250F. Everything fit and worked very well. All items were in the box, so no mad dash to the Dealer for missing pieces... Very pleased, will buy again.

overall this is a great kit, the only issue i had was the lower oil seals would not seat, i actually ruined them trying to get them in, they did not need to be ground for proper fitment, just did not want to seat in the piston, i had to spend an additional fifty dollars on new ones but next time ill know to take a little more time seating them. other than that everything in the kit was flawless

Wiseco 11:1 Piston on Raptor 700

This is a good piston, the circlips are really heavy duty, making it a little harder than normal to get them in. The piston alone, out of the box looks badass, has black side skirts and deep curves. It didnt give me any problems going in the cylinder, and once it was in the motor loved to rev.. It requires 93 octane, or it will tick and not work as well. As far as riding, i find myself running through the gears alot quicker, and flying. My 4 year old battery didnt want to turn the motor at first becuase of the higher compression, so i had to get a new one. Bike sounds real crisp though. I DO reccomend this piston to anybody running a 4 stroke.

Great power but be careful!

installed this on my cr125 ran it and then rode it..great power and woke up my bike like crazy...puled the front tire on a 125 in 1-3rd gear without trying...however i messed something up im assuming the ring gap was not corret and after about anout 1.5hr ride time the ring caused scoreing on my jug destroying it.

Starting?
Will this kit make my 05 450r harder to start

1 month 2 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This piston kit will raise the compression a bit so it may make the kickstart lever a bit harder to kick over but really it should not be so much that it makes the ATV harder to start. The high-compression piston shouldn't cause any starting problems really.

Am i able to buy OEM gaskets that will fit this piston?
or should i buy the piston kit with gaskets?
MotoSport Staff Expert
the gaskets wont change unless you go over bore. so if your going with a stock bore piston then stock gaskets will work!

If i get this piston and the stage 2 cam will i have to change my efi mapping?
Top 250 Contributor
Over 4 years ago Location: NC
Yes you will. You will also have to run at least 93 octane fuel, maybe evan more if there is any spark knock. The stock compresion ratio is about as high as you can go on pump fuel. Any higher you need race fuel. Either way you will need to remap to avoid damage and to get the most out of your parts and money.

Yes, you will have to change the map for the cam. If you were only doing the piston you wouldnt.

I have a 1998 Suzuki rm125 2-stroke. Is this ok to use on my bike?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 4 years ago Location: USA
A) If your bike is listed under the "fits these bikes" than it will work. B) If your bike has stock bore than this piston will fit.

No, it will be the same bore. Weiscos are better than OEM and use their own rings. Be sure and set the ring Gap. There are instructions in the kit for how to set the gap. A bearing wrist pin and circlips will insure a good install. Do not re-use gaskets. They make look fine but for a few bucks be sure!!

Would i have to run race gas with this piston or could i use 93 pump ?
Expert MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
the rule of thumb I've always used is anything above 12.5:1 compression should at least run a 50/50 blend of race and pump fuel.

Do i have to do anything to my cylinder or can i just put in the new piston myself?
