I recently purchased my first sport bike, a 99' GSX-R 600, and needed a stand, since I do all my own maintenance and repairs on all my bikes. After spending HOURS browsing thru Motorsport. Com's selection of stands, I was a bit confused. After a little research, I decided that I wanted a rear stand that uses bobbins. Basically that means some stands adjust to fit under your swingarm, which is the simplest method, but isn't the sturdiest. Bobbins are round little objects that thread into a factory threaded hole on either side of the swingarm ( (most bikes are ready) and these style stands have rounded contacts that come into contact with the bobbin, allowing you to use leverage to lift the bike and lock it in place. This special edition Vortex stand arrived a bit thicker and stronger than the picture showed, but like the pictures, fit, finish, and craftsmanship are all outstanding. Also, the only bobbins that were available when I ordered was from Oxford, and fit both my Suzuki and my stand wonderfully. Very pleased with this choice!
