Description
Item #VFO0004

The VForce reed valve system by Moto Tassinari has been the reed valve system of choice by anyone serious about two-stroke engine performance for the last 10+ years. The simple premise of the VForce3 reed valve system is to increase engine power and throttle response by increasing the efficiency over a conventional reed valve design.

The unique design of the VForce reed valve system features double the reed tip surface over a conventional reed valve design. This has two major benefits: 1) The reed petals only travel half the distance as a conventional reed valve design to get the same airflow. 2) Because the reed petals only need to travel half the distance of that on a conventional reed valve design, there is a greater chance of them being fully opened as well as a better chance of sealing when they are "closed". A reed petal never truly "closes" in a classic sense, as it is always in movement. Consider this, an engine operating at 8,000 RPM results in a reed petal opening and closing 133 times in one second. This fact sheds light on another VForce advantage. Since the petals are only traveling half the distance, they generally last longer and they receive less wear than the reed petals on a conventional reed valve design.

  • Double the reed tip surface over a conventional reed valve design.
  • Increased bottom end, stronger mid-range and longer top-end.
  • Greater efficiency due to reduced reed petal travel.
  • More airflow means more horsepower.
  • Reduced reed petal wear.
  • Screw-free design eliminates risk of screws going through motor.
  • Screw-free design enables super quick reed petal changes.

Works great but hard to install

The directions state that you might have to cut the rubber tabs off the stock intake manifold. Let's just say it's a lot easier said then done and the stock reeds bolts will not be the correct length to for the new reeds

Put a little extra zip in your 2 stroke

This is my third VForce reed valve and the reason for that is that they work. It woke up my son's YZ125, now it revs from the bottom to way over the top and everything in between which is what his bike needed. Installation was fairly quick once I took my sub frame off and it bolted on easily with the supplied parts. What more can one ask for when the product delivers as advertised. Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Not a quick bolt in.........

V Force almost made a reed cage that wasn't worth the trouble.
On my 2002 ktm sx250, you have to cut the reeds off flush on
the stock Boysen block. File, cuss, and fab up a carb adaptor.
Good reeds, for the money, it should be a straight bolt in.

VForce 3 Reed Valve System

Somewhat easy to install. The existing air boot for the KX85 & kx100 will need to be trimmed, which a template plate is provided in the kit. I does mention this in the detailed instructions as a possible task/
Be sure to adjust your jetting, the V Force will make the bike run leaner. I had to increase the main jet from 138 to 142.

Great product and provides additional power throughout the throttle range.

GREAT PRODUCT

I have noticed a big difference of how crisp it is now and how responsive my throttle is now. Couldn't ask for a better performance item. It gives you instructions on how to modify the carb. boot and everything. Very worth it (97 CR250)

HORRIBLE!!!

DO NOT BUY!! My 2008 yz125 ran great with OEM and I should have left well enough alone. THEY DO LEAK!! All the reviews were CORRECT! Go with boyesen or stick with OEM. VFORCE are a waste of money and I could see light coming through the reeds right out of the box. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Q: Would this or Fmf shorty increase my power more? If I went with shorty I would have full fmf system... What would you personally do?

A: Depending on what bike you have the Shorty silencer generally adds bottom end. The V-Force 3 Reed Valve System design widens peak power and increases the horsepower over the entire range of the power band. Personally a pipe, silencer, VForce and suspension (valving) were always the first things I added when I got a new 2-stroke.

Q: Problem with fouling my plugs?
3 months 7 days ago
I recently installed the vforce3 reeds and after about 30min of riding my bike fouls the plugs and dies? is this normal? do I need to adjust the carb settings to compensate for this problem? when I put my old reed back in the bike runs just fine no problems????

A: Sounds as though your bike is running rich and needs to be re-jetted. There is not a specific setting I could give you for jetting your bike. It would really depend on your location (altitude/temperature) and the current jetting. Jetting can be very tricky, there isn't one setting that will work everywhere with every bike. I would recommend taking your bike to a local motorcycle dealership’s service department to have your bike properly jetted.

A: Yes it does, and very nice carbon fiber ones at that. The whole unit snaps together and mine have always been assembled when they arrived. Just check it over, make sure the reeds are held on with the holders correctly and install it. It's not hard to do and it should make a noticeable improvement in your bikes performance

A: If your bike is currently jetted properly you will likely not have to make any changes after installing this VForce 3 Reed Valve System. I would recommend installing the VForce and riding the bike to see how it is running then tuning your carburetor from there if necessary.
