This is my second set of Cortech gloves, had an earlier version of these but they were made slightly differently (can't remember what they were called). They lasted over two years of daily riding in all weather so, when the Teknik Lightnings I just spent three years in were no longer available in my size, I went back to these. Still impressed with Cortech's quality however these don't appear to be the 4XLs I ordered. It says 4XL/14 on the tag but these are a size 12 at most. I understand, my giant ham hock hands are some sort of freak of nature but my last set of Cortech gloves fit true to size. And by that I mean they only had 3XLs back then and they fit snug like I expected. I'm hoping that getting some miles in them will help things. They're not uncomfortable, they just don't fit completely right. Maybe after wetting them down this weekend and walking around in them... The only other issue I have is that the way the coverings on the fingers are made to allow the gloves more flexibility. These flaps(?), which the description calls finger extension panels, keep catching on my brake lever when transitioning off the throttle and onto the brakes. Again, could be my giant meathooks and I haven't seen anyone else write about it... I wouldn't recommend these as a cool/cold weather item as they are extremely well vented and you can feel the air flowing across your fingers. Not in a bad-there's-no-protection way. The expansion panels and additional knuckle protection cover the venting and provide all the protection you could want. I've owned Cortech gear before and I've not been anything other than thoroughly pleased with the quality, durability, and protection (yes, personally tested) so I'm sure things will work out just fine. Oh, and the silicone printing on the fingertips is great for giving you some extra grip when needed, just be aware that it'll feel rough when scratching your nose if you get an itch. If anything changes as I wear these, I'll update this review.
