Best boots for the money

these are just as good or better then any $500 boots i have ever owned - buckles last , they actually come clean when you power wash them - i have about 40 hours on them and the bottoms have almost no wear at all , tech 7 are by far my favorite boots - the size runs a little big. if you buy your size you will need fat socks.

Great comfortable boots

These boots are great. The first time i rode in them i relized how comfortable they are with great safety features. The only thing wrong is the buckles are pretty touph to undo. But i would definately reccomend these boots.

Great Boots, great protection

I have used all makes of boots and have always fallen back to Alpinestars. I understand the sole(bottom of the boot) is a little soft however I don't sharpen my pegs and have never cut through any of them. Never broken a buckle or split a strap. My son still uses older tech 10's for trail riding as they are nice and soft. Great boots.

Excellent Boot,

I have been using Alpinstars for years from oldest son with Tech 8's to my youngest with Tech 3's and my boot tech 7's. My boots are 4 years old and perform just like the day they came out of the box. Just moved my youngest to tech 7's as he has outgrown the tech 3.s and size/comfort were the same. Great boot. In comparison to our previous boots which were fox these will last as the fox boot broke down in the first year. They are a little stiff but after taking a 2 mile walk they seasoned very well.

OK Boots

I have had these boots for just over a year now with about 70 hours on them and they have held up fairly well, just some minor stitching coming undone. The soles are holding up great. The only complaints that i have is that the buckles can be hard to open/close, and they really arent vented as stated. Overall a decent boot for someone who wants good protection, style and fit at a mid-level price.

Compared to the Tech 3 boots, how do these compare? Because I was interested in the All Terrain Tech 3 boots as well.?

The Tech 7 has a dual density toe box to offer good protection but still allow good feel of the shifter. It has a 2 piece sole for easier replacement when it wears. The Tech 7 also has metal buckles vs plastic on the Tech 3 for durability. The upper portion of the boot and gaiter are a little nicer on the Tech 7 and seal against the leg better to help prevent debris from entering the boot. The Tech 7 also has a stiffer overall body for more competition oriented riders. The Tech 3 is a slightly more flexible boot for more casual riders that sacrifices a little stability for more comfort.

Do these fit true to size?
My son has a sz 11 in sidi boot and we are looking at these boots . Does any one have a input if these boots run small since its a different company? They don't come in half sizes and I don't want them to be too small. Thanks!

I wear the same size in Alpinestar as i wear in most of my everyday shoes and most other brands of boots. They tend to run pretty true to size. One main difference is typically the Sidi boots run slightly narrower than the Alpinestar boots. If for any reason you are not happy with the fit, we have a great return/exchange program to get you taken care of.

Foot sizes I wear a 14 eee wide what would fit me best?
MotoSport Staff

The Gaerne boots typically fit well for riders with wider feet. In the price range of these Alpinestars, i think the Gaerne G-React boot will be your best option.

These boots run a little big. Not quite 1/2 a size, but if you order your size, you will need thick socks!

They do not run big...I ordered true to my shoe size and they fit perfectly

I got a size 12 tech 7 for my13 year old, foot part fits but calf area is quite large is there a youth boot or does his leg just need to catch up?
If he is 13 and already wears a size 12 then I am pretty sure no youth boot will fit him. Try adjusting the buckles as tight as possible on top and if that doesnt work, have him wear some knee pads or more layers.

Do these boots come with the small booties inside?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
No, the ankle support is built into the boot itself. Only the tech 10s and 8s have the inner bootie.

no the tech8 and the tech10 do

Do these boots have good traction on hill and stuf if you fall?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
The sole is pretty grippy so you should be alright on a hill as long as it's not covered with super loose top soil.
1 year ago Location: San Diego, CA, USA
Yes, very good traction. I'm not too sure about in slippery mud, but everything else the traction works well.

What It Is

The Tech 7 is the newest boot in Alpinestars' line of high-performance motocross footwear. Meant to replace the popular Tech 6, the Tech 7 is a traditionally styled boot without the internal removable bootie that the more expensive Tech 8 and Tech 10 boots have.

Hits

The Tech 7 is a very aesthetically pleasing boot, and quite possibly the best-looking boot on the market. At first glance, the new 7 looks much like the high-end Tech 10, with its bonded sole and new-style buckles. We love the bonded sole, as it has smooth surfaces and no lip to get hung up on the parts of your bike that your boots come into contact with. From the moment you pull the Tech 7 on, it is comfortable and requires little to no break-in time. We were able to slip into ours on race day morning, ride practice, and be completely comfortable and used to them by the time moto one rolled around. The buckles are easy to operate and they offer a wide range of adjustment. The rubber gaiters at the top of the boots seal nicely and keep dirt and moisture out. Furthermore, they do a fine job of keeping your boots from snagging on the plastic panels of your bike. The Tech 7s have above average ankle support and a nice, firm sole that still offers excellent feel for the footpegs. With over a dozen rides in our test pair, the bottoms of the soles seem to be holding up very well and are showing no signs of above-average wear.

Misses

It is important to properly click the buckles completely shut, as they can come open if not locked properly. The Tech 7 runs slightly larger than the Tech 8 and Tech 10 boots by about a half size.

The Verdict

We wouldn't be surprised if the Tech 7 rapidly becomes Alpinestars' best-selling boot. With great looks, good support, exceptional comfort, and an affordable price tag, the Tech 7 is the best traditionally styled, non-bootie, non-hinged boot on the market.
