My garage was recently broken into & one of the things stolen was my gearbag full of gear. My son's Fox F3R boots didn't hold up very good at all, broke a buckle on third ride, left boot split on the side and were heavy. These boots are light, good fitting and so far are wearing good. The buckles are made well too. Great boot for the price!!!

Great bootss
These are really good boots. I have only rode twice with them but the are a big step up from the Tech 3s. The only issue i have is the right boot rubs a little on tge outside of my foot. Might just be my goofy 6 years in the military feet. Good product i highly recomend them.

no brainer on these boots for me, I tried the tech10 with the booty insert and prefer the more comfortable tech 7s. I rode the vectors back when they came out and suppose these are the newest version. if you don't require ankle stability- try these boots!!

If he is 13 and already wears a size 12 then I am pretty sure no youth boot will fit him. Try adjusting the buckles as tight as possible on top and if that doesnt work, have him wear some knee pads or more layers.

No, the ankle support is built into the boot itself. Only the tech 10s and 8s have the inner bootie.

The sole is pretty grippy so you should be alright on a hill as long as it's not covered with super loose top soil.

Yes, very good traction. I'm not too sure about in slippery mud, but everything else the traction works well.

The Buckle/Strap kit for the Tech-7 is different. MotoSport does not stock the this four pack of Buckle/Straps but they can special order them if you call and ask. PU3430-0191

Super simple but it requires you to mail them to Alpinestar. We have had buckles replaced and them resoled at the same time. It was a really quick turn around and they are like brand new again. It was very resonably priced as well. With the cost of boots, and time put in to breaking them in, you don't always want to just replace them.

Are these soles on the on the 2008 or the 2009's 'Tech 7's repalcable with screws or do you have to buy the replacments & bring them to a cobbler & have the repalcement swen on?

these two boots are very different from each other. The noticeably differences is the material they use in constructing the boot. also, the tech-8 includes a inner booty.

What It Is

The Tech 7 is the newest boot in Alpinestars' line of high-performance motocross footwear. Meant to replace the popular Tech 6, the Tech 7 is a traditionally styled boot without the internal removable bootie that the more expensive Tech 8 and Tech 10 boots have.

Hits

The Tech 7 is a very aesthetically pleasing boot, and quite possibly the best-looking boot on the market. At first glance, the new 7 looks much like the high-end Tech 10, with its bonded sole and new-style buckles. We love the bonded sole, as it has smooth surfaces and no lip to get hung up on the parts of your bike that your boots come into contact with. From the moment you pull the Tech 7 on, it is comfortable and requires little to no break-in time. We were able to slip into ours on race day morning, ride practice, and be completely comfortable and used to them by the time moto one rolled around. The buckles are easy to operate and they offer a wide range of adjustment. The rubber gaiters at the top of the boots seal nicely and keep dirt and moisture out. Furthermore, they do a fine job of keeping your boots from snagging on the plastic panels of your bike. The Tech 7s have above average ankle support and a nice, firm sole that still offers excellent feel for the footpegs. With over a dozen rides in our test pair, the bottoms of the soles seem to be holding up very well and are showing no signs of above-average wear.

Misses

It is important to properly click the buckles completely shut, as they can come open if not locked properly. The Tech 7 runs slightly larger than the Tech 8 and Tech 10 boots by about a half size.

The Verdict

We wouldn't be surprised if the Tech 7 rapidly becomes Alpinestars' best-selling boot. With great looks, good support, exceptional comfort, and an affordable price tag, the Tech 7 is the best traditionally styled, non-bootie, non-hinged boot on the market.
