Sunline Alloy Shift Lever

Product Description

  • Sunline makes it possible to keep your dirt bike on the track without missing a gear with their folding alloy shift lever.
  • Being truly race ready is not what the factory gives you, but Sunline has your back by using a folding tip on the shift lever that gives way pressure from close holeshot battles or scrapping pegs in the berm.
  • A satin anodized finish covers the alloy shift lever to resist corrosion for a long lasting upgrade.
  • Sunline uses a forging process to build the aluminum shift lever which reduces weight with a great look.
  • The alloy shift lever features a knurled shift tip for great traction and feel.
  • The pivot point on the aluminum alloy shift lever will work race after race thanks to the heavy duty stainless steel oversized hardware.
  • Sunline designed each of the folding alloy shift levers to match up to the factory gear splines and hold tight with the 8 mm hex head bolt.

Dissapointed

I have used these shifter before and not had a problem. I bought this one for a CR80. As usual from Sunline the product was nicely finished and appears tough unitl you get to where it connects to the shaft. I dont know why but they machined a lot of material away from the shifter in this area. and the thickness and way the pinch bolt close are just weak. Also, the splines on the inside of the shifter mount were almost non existent. Between these two ailments even with red loctite the pinch bolt would back out and then the shifter would slip. I almost sent it back thinking that it had to be some kind of manufacture defect due to the lack of proper spline height. I ended up just reinstalling the stock shifter which works fine.

Mistake

this lever looks trick so i had high hopes for it. it didn't work so well. the metal is too soft. i was missing shifts and it was bent by the end of the first practice session. if you are aggressive with the shifter you will bend this thing first lap! by the end of the day the lever bent right under the engine result the bike stuck in a gear and me going home. i replaced it with the hammerhead design shifter and i have not missed a shift since. the hammerhead is indestructible and has zero flex

Had to replace this replacement.

The lever looks good but that is about all the praise I can give it. I had to replace it after only about a month of riding when the splines wore out and it could no longer serve its function. It is not the case that my post needed replacing since the replacement I bought for this one works fine. I would not recommend. Spend the extra change and go with a different brand.

Will this fit my 2009 yz450f?

Sure does Great deal for $30. In stock now. I bought one for my Bro's KX450 and it looks sick. Just remember to line it up the same as your old shifter. Error in the favor for what is easy for up shifting. You don't want to strain to shift up, and all you have to do is stomp to down shift. Tear it up

Will this fit my Suzuki PE250?
i have a 1977 pe250 suzuki dirt bike
MotoSport Staff
Over 9 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Unfortunately these are model specific shifters and they do not produce one for your PE250. I do not see a manufacturer listing a new shift pedal for the 1977 model. Your best bet will be to try and find someone selling a good used one on Ebay or through a motorcycle salvage yard.

Sunline does not offer a shift lever for a 2000 YZ250. We do have a turner one: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/TURNER-ALUMINUM-SHIFT-LEVER/?catalogId=106999 and an IMS one: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/IMS-SHIFT-LEVER/?catalogId=103195
