MotoGP went to the newly-built facility in Austin, Texas, for the first time this past April for the second round of the 2013 MotoGP Season. The 3.427-mile track was officially opened on October 21, 2012, and F1 raced there less than a month later. Marc Marquez topped the podium in the MotoGP class ahead of fellow Repsol Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa. Jorge Lorenzo completed the podium for Yamaha Factory Racing in third place.
