Q: 2015 kx450f head light?
I have a 2015 kx450f. I would like to know if i can wire this up to a headlight for my bike. i know my bike wont charge the battery so i have two questions. 1. Is there a charger i can buy for the battery to charge it when it is dead. 2. Will this battery power a head light.

A: I would suggest the Polisport Lookos Solar Headlight With Battery.
A: Hey josh glad you posted something about this. I have the same year same bike and have been wanting to find a way to run lights as well. Here's what I'm coming up with... I am planning on running a cyclops adventure headlight that will run off the plug and play AC hook up on the bike. I planned on buying this battery to run my tail light and brake light only so I wouldn't have a huge draw with all the lights. I have a battery tender that trickle charges 12 volt batteries and would plug it in after every ride or so. Have yet to do this but thought I would share and see if it helps you outd

A: No, The Trail Tech NiMH Vehicle Mount Battery is just for supporting a lighting system. It doesn’t have enough cranking power to support e-start.

A: Since your YZ400F was not originally set up for lights your will likely need to replace your stock stator with a aftermarket lighting stator or have your OEM stator rewound for higher output. Also, in order for your bike to charge this battery from your stator you would also need to install a regulator/rectifier on your bike.

I have a 1998 ktm exc with a lighting kit on it and im trying to get a battery that can be recharged by tjhe bike itself. Does my stator have enough electrical current to recharge this battery and would I need to get a regulator?

A: You would still need a Regulator/Rectifier on your KTM in order for it to properly charge the battery.

A: This would work for you but you bikes electrical system is not set up to charge a battery. You will more than likely need to get an aftermarket stator (or have your OEM stator rewound) and regulator/rectifier in order to charge the battery and run lights on your bike. I would recommend looking at the Trail Tech Electrical System Kit for your bike.

I would like to get a nice battery mounted onto my yz 125 so i can put a headlight and tachometer onto it. Would this product be what I'm looking for?
MotoSport Staff Expert2 years 6 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
A: The battery will work on any machine, but your YZ doesn’t have any way of keeping it charged. You would need to get an aftermarket stator (or have your OEM stator rewound) and regulator/rectifier in order to charge the battery and run lights.
