Nice riders, nice price

I bought this set to replace my Dunlop 491s that came on my Goldwing. Being cost wary, I shopped a few other sites before I settled here. These tires have a different shape than the Dunlops I had. The Curvature is sharper, meaning the lean geometry changed. The first few curves had me overly cautious, but between the ride and the handling it didn't take long for me to start liking them. They ride smooth and, as long as they are lined up correctly, you won't need to rebalance your wheels. I'm pleased with the performance aspect - they seem to hold more securely ( It could be due to the age of my old tires). The Highways here are a bit chewed up so I was pleased at the way my old Wing handled the roughness with these installed..
A nice deal - at a nice price!!

2003 VMax

I went with the Shinko 230 Tour Master to keep the 110-18 front and a larger 170-15 on the rear.

The 170-15 fits PERFECTLY and I hope to get several miles out of this setup. (about 3/8" clearance on the drive shaft)

The 170 give the older VMax a great look from behind, a lower side profile and an EXCELLENT 'newer' style bike look and feel. its like riding on a cloud. major improvement over the stock 150-15.(Dunlop 404)

Q: I would like to put these on my 2002 honda 750 Shadow ACE, what would be the best size front and rear for optimal performance?

A: I would recommend staying with the stock (OEM) tire size of a 120x90-17 front and 170x80-15 rear. Unfortunately that front tire size is not available in the Shinko 230 Tour Master tire. If you could give us a call at 888-676-8853 we would be happy to help you find a tire combo for your bike.

Q: 2003 Honda VTX1300S calls for 140/80-17. Will a 150/80-17 work since it looks like the 140/80-17 is not available?

A: While the 140/80-17 is the correct sized spec tire for the bike, plenty of riders have used the 150/80-17 in its place on the VTX1300S models.
