Came quickly no instructions. I had hard time at firs. Then found a general nerf bar install instructions on the site. It helped out big time. Negatives are I broke a bolt so don't wrench to hard on motor mount bolt. All in all its good product. Yet to ride on them but look great. 7/10

Awesome nerfs but horrible bolts

bought these for my 08 yfz450 se and they are great... tho I had some problems when mounting them mainly cause the bolts snapped off in the frame and had to drill out the holes and replace the bolts... but great sturdy nerfs...

Awsome Nerf Bars!

These nerf bars are great, they seem to be very durable and are very lightweight. They have a great fit and I didn't have to customize anything. The only downside to these is the fact that they don't come with instructions. People on here say that they found instructions on the internet or forums, however I did not find anything helpful for my KFX450. A friend and I installed them in about an hour and a half. Would definitely recommend to anybody!

Tough Bars

Good product overall. Came with ZERO directions. Had to modify one side to get it to fit to frame. Not as easy as I would like.

NO INSTRUCTIONS

Great looking product, but came without installation instructions. Also, had to "modify" on bracket to get it to connect to frame.

Good product

All in all very well built product, but just a few things that did not like. Installation would have went a lot better with INSTRUCTIONS. We bought them for a 2007 Honda TRX400ex and after getting the brackets mounted onto the frame, the nerf bar would not slide all the way on. I had to cut 5/8" off the front of the bar to get the bolt holes to line up on the foot peg bracket. My son was not real happy that I was cutting his new bars, but that was the only way to get them mounted correctly.

Great For the Price

Was Looking for black nerf bars forever and finally found this set. Great quality for $249. Took less than an hour to install. Look tough and very stable feeling. First time I ordered from here and definately will be ordering again with fast shipping!- Honda 400ex Cons- Needs directions but if you search online forums they will help.

Good nerfs

I have a 2008 Honda trx450er. When I pulled them out of the box they looked too big for my four-wheeler. They are very nice compared to what I had (just the foot peg). They are solid and I have not had any problems with them so far. Installing them was a little bit of a B, no instructions made it worse. They come with two brackets to mount them to the frame. The one that goes in the old foot peg holes fits fine, however, the front bracket was a little bit more difficult. I had to bend it to meet the angle of my frame and there was no hole to bolt it up. I just welded it to my frame and they are fine. They ended up not sticking out past my rear tire. I am happy with them.

Just wondering if there is any difference for the special edition.

There will be no difference between the special edition and regular 2005 YFZ450. Just make sure to profile the make, model and year correctly.

How well does the black hold up on them, ive had black nerfs before and the paint didnt last long?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
Color on nerf bars normally doesn't last too long on any nerf bar mainly because of the abuse they are designed to take.
