Say what you want all day long, there is nothing that I have ever done to a bike that has given me so much to make my CRF450R a pleasure to ride than this autoclutch.

I wanted so badly to find a reason to not like this thing. I failed miserably. This thing is incredible. There is no other product out there that looks so simple yet changes the characteristics of a bike so drastically.
Installed on my 2002 YZ250. Installation is a breeze. The instructions are straight forward and took me about 30 mins (including the time to unwrap the Rekluse and walk out to the garage!).
Initial setup is very easy as well and Rekluse provides clear instructions on setting up free play gain and how to break the clutch in.
Now on to the good stuff! I bought this thing after pouring over thousands of reviews and doing a ton of research. Once I found out about the 30-day trial period, there was no reason for me not to try it out.
My worry was that this would make me into a 'lazy' rider. I was happily mistaken. I do mostly tight woods riding and enduros and this thing just plain ROCKS! It perfectly modulates the clutch in slow tight stuff and lets you concentrate on actually riding and missing trees instead of keeping the engine running and the clutch in the sweet spot. It forces you (in a good way) to keep more momentum through tight corners mainly by making it easier to stay a gear higher.
I was also worried that this clutch would take away my use of the 250's awesome slow low end power. My worries vanished instantly here as well. The clutch grabs and holds very low in the RPM and lets you use every bit of power from just off idle all the way to redline.
The ONLY downside to this product is that the clutch pull gets a lot harder. But this is not an issue for me AT ALL because with this thing, you are able to stay off the clutch a lot and let the Rekluse do the heavy lifting, but you retain full manual clutch control when you need it!
I was surprised to find out that you still retain full normal engine braking with this installed. I was shocked at this since most people say they were blowing turns due to lack of engine braking. I found the complete opposite. While yes, if you are going downhill and lock up your rear tire, the Rekluse will release and you will freewheel downhill. But you can re-engage the clutch instantly without even speeding up. All you have to do is pull in the clutch, rev the bike and let the clutch out and the Rekluse will grab again and engine braking resumes. It becomes very intuitive once you ride a bit. I found the release point very predictable and the clutch releases so low in the RPM where a 2 stroke doesn't give much, if any, engine braking anyway.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is a solid tight woods/enduro rider looking to step up the fun factor of riding. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE WHO DOES NOT ALREADY KNOW HOW TO FULLY USE A CLUTCH. This thing should NOT be used as a crutch for someone who can't properly use a clutch on a dirtbike. This product won't magically make you be able to climb hills that you couldn't get up before. It will simply help seasoned riders step up their game.
I left the factory springs that came in the Rekluse and am very happy with the performance. I may try the different springs and/or wedges just out of curiousity.
My only worry going forward with this product is durability. I have absolutely no reason to doubt its durability and reliability; I just hope it keeps performing this well for years to come because this thing wasn't exactly cheap. Like many have said before me, I wish I had bought this thing sooner. It is expensive, but I have already found it worth every penny. If you are even remotely thinking of purchasing this (which I assume you are if you are reading this review), I say GO FOR IT!!
From the worst rider to the best rider a Rekluse clutch will make a better rider. Changes the way you ride a bike and takes only about 10 minutes to get used to. Makes you regret not buying one the first time you heard about it.
If your motor is running right, the bike won't stall. Stomp the rear brake, fall off, carry a beer in your left hand.
People who don't like them haven't used one. PERFECT for woods or endurocross.
Purchased the EXP 2.0 for installation in my 02 KTM 300, installed it in less then an hour, tuned it in about 15 minutes. This thing allows you to just point and shoot the bike, roll on roll off power delivery, one less thing to process when hauling the mail through the woods.
It took a bit for me to get used to the difference in power delivery as well as lack of engine braking, 2T has very little engine braking to begin with, with the EXP 2.0 there is none, can't tell you how many corners I blew through until I got used to it.
I put this on my 2002 YZ250 that I mainly ride desert with and I love it!! I have the Z-Start Pro on my KTM 450 XCF and I couldn't wait to get the EXP for the YZ. Install takes like 15 minutes and break in time is pretty short too. I do some desert racing out here and I can't wait to see what It will feel like during a race. It allows me to use the low end power of the bike and never have to worry about stalling. Also, it does allow you to corner better without even having to worry about the clutch lever. If you are thinking about a rekluse I recommend the EXP instead of the more expensive systems that rekluse offers to make sure that you'll like it. Rekluse clutches will always be on my must have mods for any of the bikes that I buy.
I've been buying from MotoSport since 2006 but have never written reviews... until now! In 2011, I had been reading about the new Rekluse EXP clutch kit. I was intrigued by the way it sounded but the price seemed kinda high.
A few weeks later I was cruising Motosport.com and saw an offer that you could use the Rekluse for 30 days and return it if not satisfied. So, I bought one for my 2009 KX250F.
Installation was quick and simple. And, I'm not a great mechanic. I followed the instructions and adjusted the cable slack. (This is VERY important.) Now is was time to hit the trail and see how it performed.
It was incredible! I honestly believe it moved me up from a C rider to a B rider. I always feared stalling my bike (cause they can be hard to restart) but since the installation of this product I've never stalled my bike. You can go into a corner, stab the rear brake and the bike will not stall.
This is, without question, the best money I ever invested in my motorcycle! Buy one of these! You will not be sorry.
This clutch works great. It maintains almost stock clutch lever feel but is anti stall. Puts just the right amount of power to the ground. I am very pleased with this purchase.
I bought if for my RMZ 450. Easy to install and worked really well.
Quick shipping and easy to install. One of the best mods I've done yet. Keeps engine from stalling and makes riding a lot easier. It also keeps you from getting tired as well. Definately recomend to anyone who does a lot of woods riding.
Super easy install, it's no harder than installing new clutch plates. Adjustment wasn't bad just follow the directions, be sure to adjust it to the instructions!
Oh, did I mention no stalling! Haven't stalled it yet. Just think the time you'll save in a woods race if you never stall. Dead engine starts are mindless now, throttle open(2 stroke) in gear and just kick. It maybe a little hard to control in muddy conditions, got to have smooth throttle control.
I got my first rekluse strictly by accident when i bought a used bike with one in it. after riding and racing off road for 40 years... holy cow ! I loved it.
I have installed one in every bike since. they have been completley reliable, extended my clutch life, and made riding more fun. Highly reccomended for off road use, and the worse conditions get the better they are
Bought the exp for my 12 wr450. Unfortunately the part can not hold the bike. 4th and 5th gear slip very bad. This is due to less than adequate holding force after removing three friction disks. With all that being said I called rekluse and they are working with me to find a solution and want to make their customers happy. Great company and I hope the fix will work.

Bought the Rekluse EXP 2.0 for my 2008 Honda CRF 450R. After the easy installation and adjustment I tried it out. The clutch worked as expected, however it chattered so much I thought the motor was going to fall out. Called Rekluse and the Rep told me it was normal for the Honda's to chatter upon first moving under power. Didn't like the chatter, so I decided to return it.
The example said it for me. "best purchase ever". I ride in the Colorado mountains where there is rocks everywhere. I came back from riding with my new rekluse and climbed a few rocky trails with it. The guys in the parking lot asked me how I made up those trails as they are normally ridin down the other direction. The rekluse made the trail rideable as my bike stayed running thru the whole section without stalling. I will never own a bike without one of these again and I've been riding for 25 years.
Good stuff: Overall best thing for an old guy to use. Can't stall the bike, ever. At age 49 this EXP 2.0 gave me more fun with less arm pump. I love the gate and the starts and with this there is no difference, just easy faster corners.
Bad Stuff: My '06 already has a hard clutch pull. This kit comes with heavier springs and well, you do the math. But as they say you don't have to pull it because you don't need it. My Magura hydraulic is not compatible, bummer.
Overall: GREAT! AWESOME! TERRIFIC!
Installs in a sinch works great but haven't used it enough to know how long it will last. It is everything you read about only concern is how long before i have to replace it.
Easy to install, easy to adjust, I will never own a bike without one of these.
Works great on my crf450x. Makes riding technical trails a lot more fun. Can ride longer without my left hand tiring. Was real easy to install. Great product that shoud come standard on trail bikes.
It would be nice if there was a way to recondition the Rekluse but I just bought my second Rekluse. I love this product!
"Clutch life is hard to answer. If you tend to ride a gear high and lug the bike, the clutch will wear faster than if you ride high in the RPM. Normally when our system is installed the clutch pack life will go up because the initial engagement is so much smoother. As for part wear, the friction material on the EXP bases is more durable than the stock friction discs, so they should outlast them by three times as long. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance."
Once the EXP is worn out, you can buy just the replacement base, you are not required to buy the whole kit again.
