Dont get this stuff

There is nothing special about this stuff. It is just medium CA glue. There is no working time at all and I trashed a brand new set of grips.

Wouldn't recommend

I wouldn't recommend this product, you get one quick shot at getting the grips on before the glue sets. But, if you do manage to get them on the glue holds well.

Bad Grip Glue

This glue sets up almost instantly. I ruined a set of grips. I would not buy again.

A little too fast

My technique for mounting grips with bark busters is to cut the ends out of the grips and put tape over the openings in the bar ends before installing. That way, you get no glue mess around the throttle tube or for the bar end anchors. Then I put a liberal amount of glue inside the grip, and a smaller amount on the bar so they slide on easily. I put some paper on the floor for when the excess splooges out the bar end.

Well, I put the throttle side on easy... just have enough glue and be quick.

But I didn't get enough glue on the bare bar and when I slid it on, the glue instantly hardened when I got the grip halfway on. Before I could make cuss words come out, the grip was locked halfway on, like a vise. So I had to cut off the grip and but another set to replace the one I cut off.

Bottom line, this stuff is fast and strong... just make sure you use a lot on the grip and the bar and be fast.

Grips went on easily and stayed. Didn't have to safety wire. After many rides, still tight.

Pro Taper Glue

Package arrived with leakage. Could tell at that time that it was the consistency of super glue. Ended up throwing away and ordering the Renthal glue. Better but not as good as the Honda glue ice used in the past. Renthal glue was very runny.

Dry quick, strong bond

Put some new pro taper grips on my bime about 10 minutes before a ride. This glue bonded so fast, no grip twist or anything while ride. Held up very well.

Grip glue for real

Be prepared to install ASAP! This glue sticks fast, faster than it says but it works better than any other

Great glue

i got some of this pro taper grip glue and it works great. easy to use and if you do it right your grips wont ever slip off during a moto. i use to run moose grip glue but my grips would slip off and have me crash on a jump or taking agressive turns.

What can I say, it glues grips!

Gives adequate amount of time to get your grips on before it solidifies, once it's stuck, it's stuck for sure!

Works great

This glue works great. It sets up fast so you can ride the same day you put them on. No overnight setup!! I have had to literally cut my old grips off and wire wheel away what I couldn't get with a knife. You have to use plenty. Put rings of glue on the bars and some in the grip so it has plenty of (lube) going on. Work out any bubbles (quickly) and they are set to go in just a few minutes. I have never had a grip come loose.
Great product!!

This is the worst grip glue I have ever used. This stuff is garbage it sticks instantly if you get a small amount on your handlebar or grips. I destroyed a new pair of grips got them half way on and the glue dried

Not what I'd expect from ProTaper

The glue seems to hold up so far, but the big problem is how quick it dries... The second this goop reaches the fresh air it dries, not an exaggeration, I had to have two people help pull the grip on and it still only got halfway on. I've used Renthal glue on previous bikes, which I thought poorly of because of slippage, I decided to try ProTaper, big mistake. Save yourself the money and the hassle and go with Renthal.

Good as advertised

The Pro Taper Grip Glue is a great product. I followed the instructions on the bottle for application and the grips slid on like butter and gave me enough time to get them positioned were I wanted them before it dried. It does dry very fast so you need to determine how you want your grips positioned before you apply the glue or it will dry on you in the process.

Fast and secure

Pro Taper grip glue works very fast, and when done correctly and with safety wire usually holds until the grips are ready to be replaced. My only (minor) complaint would be that it sets up too fast. It's still my go to grip glue.

Great grip glue! Finally found something that works. Tried the last weekend on a 6 hr GP race and the grips never moved!

Q: What is the temp rating?
I'm looking for. For glue that is rated for up to 250 degrees foe R my heaters
Over 3 years ago
A: I can't tell you the temp rating but I can tell you that this glue did not work for my dirt bike grips. I used a lot of glue and it worked until I rode in the rain. The glue completely broke up and even my throttle grip was loose. Making it impossible to twist the throttle without gripping very hard.

A: I can't tell you the specific temperature rating but I have used this grip glue on my ATV's and snowmobiles with heaters and never had any issue with the glue melting or coming loose.
