Took a while to fit them on a 2005 400ex

Well after talking to many people, I was told that these bars would bolt right onto my 2005 400ex. When I received the bars I was extremely disappointed to find out that the instructions stated that these bars will bolt right onto your 400ex with the exception of 2005 models!
The instructions state that the front mounting section of the heel guard will need to be cut off! exactly what I didnt want to do.
So, here's the deal, you can heat up the heel guard with a heat gun and
and gently stretch it a 1/4 inch and tighten it down. It will work.
The pegs needed to be drilled along with opening up the hole on the nerf bars that was "pre drilled".
Also, the instructions and picture are terrible along with any helpful info on the proper way to install and adjust the webs.
Bottom line for the 2005 model...they will work and they will look good but not without some time and a bit of frustration.
The best part about these nerf bars was buying them from Motor Sport, nice people and they do seem to care.

Some trouble to fit, but looks good.

I have a '07 450R and I wanted to buy some nerf bars before I raced it, so I got these. Bolting them on wasn't as easy as I thought. Cutting the OEM heel gaurd plastic wasn't bad, but the nerf bars looked like they were at an angle even though they were lined up with the other bolts. I'm not too big on the buckles all over but, the nerf bars still look good.

No good

I have the pro armor sport series with heel guards I think, either way there junk. The heel guards are not reinforced very well so they vibrated a lot. It cracked the welds and fell apart pretty much. Only good thing was the nets held up great and never started to come loose or sag.

P.A. Nerfs

I installed these last night on a 400ex and a perfect and painless process. They polish up quickly and nicely. Good installation literature. Good solid design with good materials. It's all good!! I will continue to do business with Pro Armor the future.

Almost a good fit

Great look, fit could be better. instructions somewhat generic, actual picture of how they fit would have been nice. Had to tweak on them pretty hart to get them to fit. The part that mounts to the footpeg covers up the serations, should be fine. Again they look great once installed. decent price, cannot believe Pro Armor and most other manufactors want close to $400 or more just to incorporate heel gaurds, There is about $50 of Aluminum in these things, plus they have to be forced to fit.

Great!

I just bought these nerf bars for my 400ex and had to drill one hole onto each foot peg and the bars come with instructions and the hardware, they also look great too! However, the only thing that I do not like is that a metal bar extends the length of the foot peg making it harder to shift with boots on. all in all, great product and will buy again for other quads that I will have in the future.

GREAT!!

Very affordable and went on smooth as silk. Had to drill one hole in my factory pegs, and everything was a snap. Came with all correct hardware and they look nice too!

Good bars

only thing about these for the 700R yamaha, its worth it to up grade to the fat peg bars to get the heel gards factor heel gards break and tear up the plastic fenders because they are mounted to them. Other than that pro armor makes great product easy to install.

second set ive ordered one for 06 kfx 400, no problems for about 2 yrs lots of hard riding jumps doubles etc. Second set for 06 ltr 450 been on about 2 months no problems, both bolted up no issues great product and a great company to deal with !!! Would highly recomend for the average hard core rider who doesnt need racing nerfs.

Best Money Spent By Far

These nerfs are excellent. They went on in 30 minutes, and that's even with drilling 2 holes in the footpegs. They were extremely easy to install and they are much more than I expected. If you own a LTZ400 and don't have nerfs, these are a must. TIP: Put the left side on first and tilt the back of the bars down at about a 45 degree angle when putting the lower a-frame bolt thru the nerf bars. Motosport rocks and it's the only place I'll get my ATV parts.

Very NICE!!!

Good Nerf bars. havnt really ridden with them yet but they go on really solid. One tip though: Put the female end on first it makes it alot easier.

Almost Perfect

I have a 2007 TRX400EX and there was only one problem. In order to keep the heel guard on you have to drill out the piece where the guard hooks on the front of the foot peg and then bolt the nerf bars through the heel guard and peg. Then where you have to drill the new hole in the foot peg, add a couple washers for a spacer. Then you can keep the stock heel guard. It works great and looks beautiful.

Much needed puchase

These nerf bars are very important for any atv rider to have on their quad. They insure safety while greatly reducing the risk of a serious injury while out on the track or trail. I would highly recommend these nerf bars to any atv rider who does not already have them.

Nice quality

I had heard stories about other brands and having to drill holes to match up with the nerfs...not these. perfect match, easy install. I ride mostly dunes and they seem pretty solid but haven't really put them to any real test. so far so good though.

A: This nerf bars only work with the stock pegs. If you have the fat peg nerf bars, these will not mount up to the pegs which are integrated into the fat pegs.
