Worked good and got the job done but kept slipping off lower race at each hit, got it after a while though.

This did a good job at removing the races from my 08 RM250 and I had no issues with the process. I'm giving it four stars because if you look closely at the tool when it sits on the races, the prongs do not sit PERFECTLY or completely on the race. But really for the price it was a good deal. No complaints
I have a 2005 YZ250 I'm building as a spare bike for friends and I found this tool online and decided to give it a try. After I ordered it I saw reviews about how it rounded corners, and failed to work etc... So I get the tool, and presto it bangs out the lower race of the YZ Steering stem like it's not even there. Then I go to do the top race and..... NOPE.... the lip on the bearing is so tiny thanks to the thick Aluminum Frame relief (gee thanks Yamaha) that the tool simply won't hold onto the race and pushes past every time... Until... I got an idea, and took a 27mm impact socket and gently tapped it into the tool to create pressure forcing the fingers to stay under the lip of the bearing race. One, two, three gentle taps on the bottom of the Park Tool Race Remover, and once again, presto! the race is out and I'm in business.
I think this is one of the best tools I've discovered in a long time. It's so worth the money to save the headache of cutting, or beating the heck out of bearing races with chisels or screwdrivers. Get one, Yesterday!
Everyone was saying how hard the races were to remove. Even welding tabs to the bearing. three hits with a hammer on each bearing. Tool fit well and caught the bearing evenly. Looking forward to using other tools.
Tool works much better than using a drift and a hammer or other methods I've used. Will not work with some steering stems that have a taper at the bottom. Overall a good tool for the toolbox.
After a couple whacks the edges started to round off, but there's a solution. Use a grinder to restore back to new, heat the frame with a torch, give it a couple whacks and itll pop out like it's supposed to
Inserted the tool into the frame ,2 or 3 hits ,hey presto.The tool knocks the race out square which is important with the alloy frames . It will be in my tool box for a long time.
The way the tool is designed it passes by the race, the races for steering stem set back to far for this tool to work and help with getting races out.
I was not sure when I ordered....but works great and not ruining any more screwdrivers. Lol
Works perfect on the 2010-2012 YZ450F. Took me four brisk hits with a dead blow hammer on each race and they popped right out. The tool caught the edges of the races perfet and sat nice an flat. Its amazing how easy the right tool makes the job go.
I bought this tool to help change stem bearings on my 2010 Crf250r. The tool did did not catch the edge of the race so it could not remove it
Useless product! I tried to use this thing to get the steering races out of my 2005 YZ 250 and all it did was round off immediately and from then on just kept jumping off the lip. To be a little fair I will tell you I had to get the help of machinist and it still took him three hours to get the races out. However all that tells me is that if the park tool would have worked, so would any long steel rod or punch you could pick up at Sears for about $10.
This tool made race removal a total snap, four taps and the race popped out! A must have in the toolbox.
I would love to say that this tool works great. But unfortunately it didn't work at all on my CRF 450. The steering tube on the aluminum frame Honda's is a smaller diameter than the races. This means the "fingers" on the tool would have to have a bend in them. Tool was incorrect shape to work in this situation. I would have bent the fingers myself but the tool is made out of spring steel. Would probably work awesome on other brand bikes or even older steel-framed Honda's.
Will not work on 2004 CRF's
Just got this tool tonight, had both races out within 5 minutes. I had to use a mallot vs. the little hammer they show but it busted them out no problem. A must have for the tool kit!
