MY THIRD 880

I JUST BOUGHT MY THIRD METZELER 880 FOR THE BACK OF MY 2006 HONDA VTX 1300C. I HAVE HAD GOOD LUCK WITH BOTH FRONT AND REAR TIRES, THEY HANDLE WELL AND HOLD THE ROAD. I TEND TO RIDE ON THE HARD SIDE MOST OF THE TIME, UNLESS RIDING 2 UP, AND I HAVE NEVER NOT HAD CONFIDENCE IN MY TIRES CORNERING. I HAVE GOTTEN BETWEEN 10,000 TO 12,000 OUT OF MY TIRES, AND WHEN THESE ARE GONE, I WILL BUY THEM AGAIN. LOOKED AT 4 OR 5 OTHER SITES, FOUND ABOUT THE SAME PRICE ON ANOTHER SITE, BUT WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR SLOWER SHIPPING, HERE I GOT FREE 3 DAY, EMAIL WITH A TRACKING NUMBER SENT TO ME, AND ON TIME ARRIVAL FROM UPS, MAKING THIS SITE THE BEST DEAL AROUND. ORDERED LATE ON THURSDAY NIGHT, TIRE SHOWED AS PROMISED ON WEDNESDAY OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND.

Bad As tires for newbies!

Wife has 2002 Yamaha. Tires were as bald as an eagle. So I did some research on tire brands. Looking for gummy tires with the greatest traction. So I settled on the ME 880's . I am so happy with my choice. As it turns out, while my wife was practicing left & right turns,( just finish motorcycle training with no real street exp.) stops & goes. She made a left hand turn from a complete stop. The road has a rather deep dip. I thought she was going down with the bike. She counter steered like a mad man. The bike handle like a charm. I said in my mind, 'WOW the tires really work. Not one sign of slipping. had the tire slipped just once, the bike would have gone down. These tires are a great choice. So what if I loss a few MPG on the road. This was the best $300.00 I've spent on the bike. The safety of my wife is paramount number 1. As soon as my Michelin tires wear out if not sooner, on my Kawasaki Vulcan 750. They will be getting a new pair of ME 880's. I've heard great stories about these tires. Now I'm one of them. Seeing is believing. I'm a true believer now. P.S. I was behind her when all this happen.

Better Traction II

Look at review from the front tire, very good traction on rough, grooved roads. Wet weather minimal, yet stills gives confidence that it will perform. You won't go wrong purchasing a set of these tires.

Do these tyres come in white walls? if not do you have an equivelent white wall tyre for a Harley Davidson fatboy 2014 model. rear tyres are 200/75 17?

This tire would be the same width and rim size as the stock tire on your Harley but the "55" (instead of the 75) indicates the side wall on this tire has a much lower profile (height) than the tire on your bike. I actually do not list any 200/75-17 Tires we sell. You may want to double check your tire size and make sure it isn't in fact a 200/55-17 like this tire is.

What tire size is compatable with a 170/70 16? 2012 vulcan nomad?
my current stock tire only lasts 4000 miles(rear) front is a little over 8000 miles. i do not burn tire off, i am slightly aggressive on riding but i am not abusive. i am looking for a longer lasting set of tires.

The Metzeler ME880 is a great tire. This is one of the most popular cruiser tires out there. They handle well, whether it is dry or wet, and they get great mileage out of them also. I am sure you would like this tire on your Nomad and you should see a good improvement in mileage also. Remember to keep the air pressure set, as motorcycle tires can wear incredibly fast if the pressure is not correct. For your Nomad, the stock size for the rear is not available but for your bike the tire to purchase would be the 180/70-16 for the rear and 130/90-16 for the front. Plenty of Vulcan riders use this setup and are incredibly happy with it.

Will this tire fit a 2000 bmw k1200lt?
MotoSport Staff
Over 9 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Yes this would be the correct size for your BMW K1200LT. The ME880 is a great cruiser tire and is one of the more popular models due to its great handling in wet and dry conditions. You can also expect great mileage from this tire.

On this tire what does the 17B 73H mean?
MotoSport Staff
Over 11 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
"17" Means it is for a 17 inch wheel. The "B" means it is a Bias Ply tire. "73" is the load index, this tire is rated for 805 LBS. The "H" is the speed rating of tire, this tire is good up to 130 MPH.

My stock tires are 200/50-17 can I run the 200/55r17?

The 200/55 tire will be taller than what you are running right now. It will be about 10mm taller which is just under half an inch. If you have some extra clearance to compensate for that you should have no issues running that size tire.
