Oil level gauge

works as advertised

Gets the job done.

I bought this to set the air gap on my KTM WP 4860 forks. I think this is a much better way to service these forks than just adding the prescribed ounces of fluid. Using the syringe is somewhat messy as the excess fluid also does not completely stay contained but, again, it gets the job done for a reasonable price.

Fork oil measuring tool

Sorry folks this is not worth the money! One
Time use and the syringe is cracked the length
Of the tube. It never got abused, I'm guessing it came that way?

Nice product

This product takes the guess work out of figuring how much fluid you need in each fork. You set this to the factory air chamber length and you are set! Only gave it a 4/5 because the numbers are a bit hard to see without light but overall works wonders

Good product.

Light, easy to store, and feels solid. The parts would be easy to replace and everything works as it should. Numbers are easy to read.

Not really necessary for me

I didn't really need this tool. Honda specifies a volume of oil for their dual stage forks, not a measurement like this tool is designed for. I used it to do an older set of forks and it was very helpful. The plunger did start to leak a little, which is why the rating is four stars.

You Need This Tool

You need this tool if you work on your own forks. When my fork seals go out I replace all the oil in my forks and this tool is great at what it is built for.

Well Made

I have not used it yet, but it appears to be well made.

Nice setup but overkill for twin chambers

This is a great product and designed very well but it is overkill for twin chamber forks like I have. Twin chambers base oil height on the volume you add to the outer chamber, not the height of the oil in the fork. Still, it is a great product for adding and drawing out a specific amount of oil when making adjustments to the volume in the field. As in, I can draw out exactly 10cc from each leg at the track to soften the forks a bit.

Easier to use

Ok product. A little pricely for the simple quality. Easier to use and more accurate than any of the manual methods I used before.

Q: Do i need this tool or should i use a fork oil measuring cup???
1 year 7 months ago
First i'd like to say I have asked many questions about special tools on your website and your team has done an excellent job answering my questions, So THANK YOU! I have a question about this tool. I have a 2006 KTM SXF 250 and i'm planning on replacing my fork seals. I have all the other tools and i know the oil level set for the forks is 100 MM. Do i need to purchase this tool or should I purchase a oil level measuring cup??

A: For the easiest and most accurate I would recommend using the Motion Pro Fork Oil Level Gauge.
Location: Oklahoma
Q: How do you use this tool. Also how much fluid should I have in my forks?

A: This tool would be used for setting the oil height in single chamber fork tubes. Your 2008 Kawasaki KX450 has dual chamber fork tubes and would not require the use of this tool. You would need to check your Owners or Service Manual for specific fork oil specifications for your bike.

A: If you have a manual check the suspension section out and look for an air chamber length that Kawasaki recommends and that's the number you use to set the level on this tool. Then just stick in into the fork and suck the excess fluid out and it's set
