Great Tires at a good price

These tires work great on the road as well as the track, long lasting on the center for highway riding and you should get about two to three track days out of them.

Best So Far

These tires are by far the best I have purchased. I have a GSXR-600 and put 10,000+ miles on every set I've bought. Great handling in dry conditions. Wet is a little sketchy unless new (under 2,000). It's hard to say though how much better any other tire would grip under the same conditions. With that said, they have never let me down rain or shine. When you switch to these tires be prepared for a change in riding. They dip into turns a bit faster than normal tires due to their "V" shape. I like it and it adds to my confidence when cornering. I would recommend these tires to friends and anyone who does a lot of riding.

Decent Road Tires

First set of replacements for my bike. Put about 600 miles on them towards the end of the season. These tires were like night and day. It really felt like the bike just gripped the road. There are a couple other decent brands out there, but for a combo deal, you can't beat it. Should be able to get at least 3k out of them with mild riding.

Great Tire

I ride canyon and push it pretty hard. These tires have not let me down. I have had used over 10 sets of these tires. The drop in and grip in dry conditions are incredible.

Initial impressions

First time using a dual compound tire.... I previously had Bridgestone Battlax tires on my FZ8. Just within a few miles I noticed a huge improvement. The cornering was smoother (more linear steering vs angle) and a more comfortable ride. I also have experienced better traction cornering in loose dry conditions as well.

So far so good.

New Tires bring new life

I had been shopping for tires for weeks and was going to go with another set of Battlax's but when talking with the Motosport rep on the phone he convinced me to go with these instead. Better price and handling was what was promised. That was what was delivered when these tires went on. I felt as if I had a brand new bike that rode on rails. Great in the turns confidence inspiring and hard hold in the straights. I would recommend these to anyone who can fit these on their bike any style of bike at that. Price and ship time were great Im a believer!!!

Bad rain tire

The Pilot Power 2CT tires are pretty good for dry conditions. It's definately not intended for wet riding conditions along with a bike over 1000 ccs. I've ran them for a year, but will not ride the bike on rainy days. The tires have no traction unlike the sticky Pirelli Corsa brands which stick to the road like glue even in the wet. I'll never buy Pilot Power 2CT tires again. It was a waste of money, and I had to wait for dry days to ride.

Excellent Tires

These tires are really good, this is my 2nd set i have bought and will always buy these, amazing traction on corners, can lean all the way to the side walls and you still feel comfortable, no slipping what so ever. Has different tread in center which makes for good long lasting tires if you do freeway/highway riding alot, i have to ride 30 miles a day on freeway to work and hit up the canyon 1-3 times a month and they keep themselves evened out and have no flat spots. Very good buy, i would recommend these to anyone, shipping of course always comes easy and fast with motosport, there customer support is excellent.

PIlot 2CT Tires

On my R1200 RT. Bought because of the good reviews for tread life and handling. Took them on an 1150 mile trip to Vancouver Island from Portland OR and they seem to be holding up very well. On parallel raingrooves they tend to wander a bit and you can tell when they transition between the two compounds when entering a turn, but they seem to handle and grip very well.

Good Value, good product.

5k Miles & time to change (rear)

Overall these tires were good but I really expected more. I have these on my VFR800 and I use it for commuting 7 days a week. in all kinds of weather. After putting 5,000 miles on them the rear tire shows wear and last week the rear tire slipped 2x without going down while riding in a light drizzle. That's something those tires have never done before so obviously I just ordered a new rear tire and keeping the front for a bit longer as there is plenty of life left there.

I love the idea of the multiple composite tires for more mileage but I found myself rattling back and forth on those turns all too often when cornering on the edge of the two composites. I might just be too picking and need to stick with a single composite and eat the costs of more frequent replacement.

I'd recommend this for buying early in the riding season and summer riding. Overall they were good but at the price and technology put into them I was looking for more.

Good tires

I had a pair of the older verision of the pilot powers on my bike bfore these and they lasted a long time... hoping these will do the same. one thing to note...as with most new tires, these have a waxy coating that needs to be worn off if you expect them to be sticky before you try hard turning with them...

Great tires

Michelin generally just makes great products. I switched to the Pilot 2ct from Dunlop Qualifiers and noticed a huge improvement. I have bought 3 sets of these so far. Every time anyone I know tries out some new high tech tire thats supposedly the best they always end up switching back to Michelins.

Q: What kind of mileage can you expect out of these tires? Specifically when it comes to street use.?

A: Tire wear varies so greatly I am unable to provide a number of miles for you. There are a lot of factors that can play a part in tire wear, starting with what bike they are going on, if kept at proper tire pressure, road conditions of where you ride and riding style. For the most information I would look at a forum that is specific to your bike model, and see what kind of miles guys are getting out of these.

A: Our tire inventory is rotated so frequently that the tires stay fresh. They are stored in our climate controlled warehouse so they do not see extreme temperature changes while being stored.

Q: What is the life span for these tires.?

A: Unfortunately life span is hard to determine on motorcycle tires. First, what bike they are going on is large factor. A heavier bike will wear them out quicker than a lighter bike. What condition the roads are in and what material the roadway is made of where you live, in addition to the temperatures of the road will all have an effect on the longevity of the tires. For an idea of lifespan on these tires, i would google search "Pilot Power 2ct Review" and find a review in one of the many forums with someone that has used them on the same bike, or a similar bike to yours to get a real world idea of what you can expect for your application.

A: For me I got about 10,000+ miles from them. I use my GSXR-600 as a daily driver/commuter bike. I have about 1.5hrs freeway and 15-20 minutes of canyon riding every day I work. I do ride them a bit longer than recommended, but generally I swap them before any thread shows...

A: The 2CT's are very new. This tire was completely sold out in the USA last year. So any 2CT will have arrived within the last 6-9 months or so.

Q: What is the difference between the 2ct and the original pilot power? Are they both fit for street ridin?

A: Both are street legal, the 2CT is more of a track/high performance tire where the pilot power is more of an everyday tire.

A: These are different from the original Pilot Powers because they have a dual compound tread. The outer part of the tread is softer to allow better traction in cornering. Great tires!
Med12
2 years 6 months ago
A: The 2CT tire is a Two Compound tire. The center (width wise) is a harder rubber allowing the tire to not wear as bad when the bike is upright (normal riding on freeways, etc). To the sides of that harder rubber is a softer sticky rubber, which allows the tire to still grip like a sport tire in the corners when your bike is leaned over. If you are wanting a tire that will last you a few extra miles get the 2CT. If you just ride on the weekends and you don't mind buying another set of tires in under 4,000 miles. Get some sticky sport tires. Both are fine for riding anywhere.
