Good Product

I buy the loud mouth for my bikes because it gives me piece of mind knowing it's a perfect seal, it's also way easier to service the filter and filter skins fit much better and won't fall off. It's a quality product but a little spendy so that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Excellent Addition

I bought this for use on a CRF450r for sand riding due to the 100% seal provided by the 360 Degree clamping surface. Now I can be absolutely certain that no sand gets past the filter. Combined with the prefilter for the sand I can run my filter much longer with less worry. Filter changes are now quick and easy, no grease or neoseal required. Installation was fairly simple though I would recommend removing the subframe and air box to make it really easy.

Loud mouths on all my bikes

We have Loudmouth's on all our bikes. Cannot testify to Hugh horsepower gains. I can say, that all bikes from full-mod to bone stock get plenty of air. The seal these filters have is unsurpassed, the ease of filter change and having the same filter fit all our bikes is more than worth the cost of the unit. Can be tedious installing. Do yourself a favor and pull the sub- frame ( the young ones won't hear as much cussing )

Worth Buying

My KTM simply became ALIVE after loudmouth is install....Don't forget to purchase a few extra of the air filter and the washcap....

Love the Loudmouth!

I put one on my '10 CRF450. Installation took a while, but the thing makes filter changes and airbox cleaning sooo easy. Also, I can put this on each of my bikes and then everything uses the same filter. I have five filters, use the no-toil oil, and throw them all in an old wash machine with oxyclean when they're dirty. This is as easy and pain-free as filter maintenance gets, I never hesitate to pop one in between sessions if the track is a little dusty, you're in and out in under a minute.

I think that for the price, the mouthwash cap should come with the filter housing. That's my only gripe.

Installed on a 2013 KX450F

It seals like non other and is awesome if you ride sand, it keeps everything clean and its easy to throw on an outerwear on and keep everything super clean. It really does seal better than any other, but..

It robs some power and really I didn't figure it out until I rode my friends bike (same bike) back to back with mine. A week later I installed a power flow and it was a boost of power. So to say it boosts performance, I don't think so.

2007 450x

bought this for my 450x... install was harder then thought... i really had to take the plung and hammer the thing into my air box or cut it out... it went in no harm done but at first i was like wtf it wont fit! someone else suggested using silicone... great idea the neopreme gasket is flimsy and install would go easier if it wasn't so flimsy but other then that works great... best mod done to my 450x... i hate the air filter changes and once even ripped my stock filter trying to make sure it was seated.. you will never get anything pasted the loud mouth... that insurance and the ease of air filter changes makes this thing tops in my books... would do it for any bike i own in the future...

I've had loudmouths on all my bikes and I don't regret spending a single penny on them! The seal between the filter and intake keeps dirt out, and filter changes take 20 seconds. Ive noticed a bit more low end as well! Great product I will continue to run loudmouths in all my bikes in the future!!

Very cool

I got this intake mostly for easy filter changes. It cut my time spent changing filters in half, no more grease or messing around with that wing bolt.
I will say the filter looks a little small, but it moves enough air I'm sure. There's a noticeable sound difference, no real power gain though.

Install was fairly easy, if you know how to remove the rear subframe, you'll be able to install this.
I found it easier to remove the tail end of the exhaust, but I have dual cans so not everyone will have to.
Also, have some RTV silicone on hand! I went to install this and had to run to the store, save yourself the frustration and get some before you start.

Loudmouth on 2008 CRF250X

install was way tougher than described. I had to grind off some edges to get it to fit. Gasket is sort of floppy which makes lining up the holes very tough. There is not a lot of space to get your hands in to put bolts on and tighten. I took air boot off as well and it was still hard. I ended up using some RTV to hold the gasket against the Loudmouth piece to install. Not sure I noticed an real gains in HP either. Filter changing will be a tad easier but it is not as huge a deal as described by most. I will use No Toil. Not sure it is worth the $$.

Great performance boost and more

Added this to my sons CRF250R and I have to say it does make a difference. I could notice the difference off the line and out of the corners watching from the sidelines. Add the fact that the airfilter changes are easier, and after a year, I have seen near zero evidence if dirt intrusion- unlike the stock setup. Installation was pretty involved, but doable with the right tools, a couple hours and some patience

Install goes easier if you just take the subframe off and the intake out. Once you do that, it's a snap. Noticed immediate gains all around and crisper starts and throttle response. Plus it's easy as cake to change filters.

Good intake system.

The system overall does the job. Simple design and easy to install. I did not notice any performance gains. The filter is very easy to remove and install. I did not see one grain of sand inside the intake after 4 different rides with the intake system. If your just looking to keep your motor dirt free and your hands clean on filter changes this is for you.

The intake system is overpriced for sure but it does keep the dirt out. For the money I would expect some fancy packaging to make me feel better about the money I spent but thats not the case. Its packed super cheap.

I know its pricey, but the ease of use and time savings over the life of your bike makes up for it. Had to order this after changing the air filter the first time on my crf which I plan on keeping for a long time. Only 4 stars since I feel this could be sold for a more reasonable price, then everyone would have one.

Noticable horsepower gains on '03 crf450 and made airfilter cleaning much quicker.

Love the loudmouth system

This is my second, first was for a crf 450, no I have this one for my yz 250. It is a little spendy that's the only down side.

Before installing this I would notice that every so often a little debris would somehow get past my air filter ( Uni). That has not happen since I got the loudmouth. Didn't notice any increase in engine performance over my uni but that fact that it seals completely is what sells me on this product.

Easy filter

Installation was about as easy as changing a filter. I didn't notice any power increase, but changing filters is so easy and grease free!

I would like to install on my son's Yz 850, how easy it to install and how much power gain will he get on flat dusty track in Botswana? Would we have to increase or decrease the sprocket sizes front or back, any suggestions.

Q: Does this kit get rid of the back fire screen?
Just wondering what happens to the back fire screen with this kit, as I'm not comfortable removing the screen for a tiny improvement in performance, at the cost of a fire in the air box. Thanks in advance!

A: Yes. The Loud Mouth is a very simple system. Intake (flange on housing) and clamp-on style filter. It eliminates the thumb screw, cage and OEM filter receiver. The filters manufactured by Twin Air and No Toil are flame retardant. According to these companies, a non-petroleum-based filter oil is recommended. Avoid petroleum-based solvents, gasoline, mineral spirits etc..

A: Loudmouth claims that you will not need to re jet after installing the kit. You should not have to rejet.

A: The Loud Mouth makes as much performance as $2000 in bolt-ons. It's proven, patent pending technology and it will keep dirt from entering your engine. Filter maintenance so easy that you'll save 20 minutes to an hour per weekend on filter changes. As a rider, the air filter is the number one thing you work with and the most important part on your bike. You might as well be happy when you pull your seat off after a long day of riding.

Q: Will this fit my bike?
1 year 5 months ago
I have a 2014 Husqvarna TC250. The bike is the same as a KTM 250SX of the same year, except with a different subframe. It is irritating trying to order aftermarket parts for it because it seems like nothing that fits other bikes will fit this bike according to the website, but it often does in real life. So what about this? I only ask because, like aforementioned, they have different subframes and assumingly, different airboxes to cope. I'd very much like to get my filter to seal better without having to use grease around the edges every filter change. It's an awful air filter system, and I'd like to use this instead.

A: Yes it would fit the 2014 Husqvarna TC250 as well.
With the Husqvarna switch over the manufactures have slowly been going through the process of crossing the P/N's for the Husqvarnas and updating fitment. Also, feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

Q: Is this kit or the twin air kit better for a 2014 crf450r? Also have had it reprogrammed when i put the Yoshimura exhaust will i have to reprogram ag?

A: Both kits are designed to eliminate the back fire screen to increase the air flow.

Normally when installing a slip-on only minor changes to the air/fuel ratio are needed, if any at all. But with the addition of the intake, more than likely you will have to reprogram your EFI. I would recommend installing the exhaust and riding the machine to see how it is running then decide if you need an purchase an aftermarket EFI tuner .

Q: Air4orce system & Loudmouth plate?
1 year 8 months ago
09 CRF450R - Are there any performance advantages to gain using the Loudmouth Intake in conjunction with the MotoT Air4orce system?
Top 1 Contributor
1 year 8 months ago
A: The internal combustion engine is very simply put a basic air pump. The more air/fuel you can pass through the intake and exhaust from the motor, the more power you will make. HP gains are very subjective to gauge on any one or combination of performance parts. Things like the age of the motor, the tune of the air fuel ratio, the altitude, etc will all have an effect on PEAK HP numbers. Many performance products will not increase your PEAK HP, but rather move the HP to a different RPM range than the stock motor.
