Was struggling off the line with my bike, replaced with this and immediately started doing better. The Hinson springs are stiff, if you don't run hydrolic clutch the pair this with Motion Pros T3 clutch cable for smooth as butter lever pull.

Great quality won't buy anything else MADE IN USA

This was a great product I can feel the difference from the day I install it. I was losing power and it was hard to find gears with my old clutch. This was my first time installing a clutch and was super easy. Just don't over tighten the spring bolt like me or you will have to get a new inner hub. This will give you the power ripped out of the turns performance you want. Hinson also has great customer service. Will buy again

Good product with immediate noticeable increase over stock. Only complaint I have is the springs are quite a bit stiffer than oem making the pull at the lever a little tougher.

Hinson clutch kit - I keep coming back

I have never had a bad experience with Hinson components. I have tried to save money and bought other clutch kits. Hinson is dependably consistent in that the clutch life and feel is better than stock components. When you get the clutch be certain to soak the fibers in oil for as long as you can before installation. I soak them in a plastic bucket 1/4 full of oil for a week and then transfer the entire clutch to a 1 gallon zip-lock bag. The oiled clutch is then placed in the spare parts tub and taken to the track every weekend. The packaging the clutch comes in protects the clutch from other parts while it waits in the spare parts tote.

Great upgrade

After my OE clutch started to slip I went with the Hinson after hearing so many positive reviews and was not disappointed. It hooked up up better and really helped put the power to the ground. Pull at the lever is a little stiffer but not too bad.

Very good purchase

Clutch was very easy to install, put it on a 07 Yz 250 hooks up great so far durability is good no fadeing so far.Springs were perty stiff so I used 3 stock and 3 Hinson springs and works great.I have used motosport for years, out of all that time only had one order that I had a promblem with called and was taken care like I had a ride with them and had part shipped to the track.

Works great

I threw these plates in my 06 yz450f, which probably didn't completely need plates, and I could tell a difference right away. They grab very nicely. I only have a couple rides on these plates so I can't comment on durability. They took about 30 minutes of mx style on the throttle constant speed shift riding to break in. Not a huge upgrade from stock and I haven't tried the cheaper plates but I can say that I do t regret paying the extra money for the Hinson product.

Clutch tech

Hinson clutch kits have been used by us for several years now. We have had very good results and zero problems.A good tip though, always check the condition of the clutch hub and basket. If they are notched or have rough grooves in the fingers or splines replace these parts. Not doing so will adversely affect the performance.

Hinson Clutch

I will only buy Hinson or OEM. The others seem to fade extremely quick. Hinson components seem like they are high quality.

A: You need to remove all the stock clutch plates, fibers and any beveled spring washers and replace with the Hinson parts. Be sure you have a factory service manual to refer to when working on your bike. If you need more help, I would suggest to consult a local service center

A: When installing the Hinson Clutch Fiber, Steel, Spring Kit you remove all the factory clutch plates, fibers and springs. If the factory clutch comes with judder springs, remove those also. The HInson kit will NOT reuse them.

A: You should have a barrel adjuster in the cable about halfway down. You should have enough adjustment there to get you back to about the middle of your adjuster on the bars.

Q: How many hours should i put on these clutch plates changing the oil regularly?

MotoSport Staff
2 years 10 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
A: It is impossible to determine how much time you will get out of the clutch. The wear on the clutch is determined by so many factors other than the engine oil it cannot be limited to that. With that said, you should see around the same amount of time as you would get out of the OEM clutch.
racer146
Over 7 months ago Location: Lawrenceville, GA, USA
A: That just depends on how hard you are on your clutch.Once you feel it slipping if you are at a race you can use washers or stiffer springs, but that is just a at track fix.It has to replace.

Q: Will this work with the stock basket and pressure plate!!!?

will this fit perfectly or should I just stick with oem. would it install just as good as an Honda oem clutch kits?...

A: Yes, this is an OEM replacement clutch. It will work absolutely fine with all of the stock clutch components. It truly is hard to say which is a "better" clutch. The OEM Honda clutches are very high quality and are hard to go wrong with. The same can be said for the Hinson products and more race teams use their clutches than any other. The Hinson clutch will fit just as well as the OEM clutch.
