I installed the stage 2 intake and exhaust cams along with the Cylinder Works big bore kit in my 2006 YZ 450... this bike is back from the dead! enormous power and two stroke like throttle response. I highly recommend their products.

Q: Will I need get my EFI reprogrammed if I purchase different camshafts?
I am wondering if my bike will run well without reprogramming the Ecm or if I will need to purchase a tuner for better performance. Thanks

A: For maximum performance tuning would likely be recommended. For tuning your HOTCAMS installed machine I recommend contacting HOTCAMS directly at:

Q: Will stage 1 intake and exhaust hotcams work with Kibblewhite valve kit or would I need to do extra modifications. The bike is an 09 kx250ft or?

A: Hot Cams stage 1 cams are designed to work with the OEM valves and springs. The Kibblewhite kit uses a higher than stock spring rate, thus will work fine with the stage 1 cam.

Q: Whats the difference between stage 2 exhaust cams an the stage 2 intake cams or can you put both on?

A: Well on Dual Over Head Cam engines you have two cams. One to control the intake valves and the other to control the exhaust valves. Typically you replace them in pairs but they are sold individually. Basically the two cams would be a match set. It is not required to run both cams, but is recommended for the most effective power increase. The exception to this is going to be on the Honda engines that only utilize one cam to actuate both sets of valves.

A: Yes the cams will work also. you can run 93 octane but the more compression that you give it the more its gonna want U4 race gas. if you istall these and the engine pings then i would want to run race fuel.

A: This cam will work fine with the PC piston. Typically, most people who run a higher compression piston will want to run straight race gas, like VP, or a 50/50 blend of premium/race gas. VP gas contains slightly more oxygen to keep the detonation temperature cooler.

Whats the difference between camshafts stage 1 and stage 2 ?

A: Unless HotCams only offers a stage 1 kit for a specific bike, then the stage 1 cams are considered a good low to mid-range cam where as the stage 2 cams are considered mid to top-end cams.
