Spark Arrestor

We needed a spark arrested silencer for our KX 85 to ride in the desert. I have other FMF products which have been excellent. This appears to be no different. Simple precise assembly. My son can't tell if the power has improved but he likes the "deeper" sound of the exhaust note.

FMF Turbincore 2 - 2 Stroke

Works great, looks great, installed perfectly. I bought this for my first endure which required a spark arrestor and a sound check. I came in at only 85db, well under the max. I also felt overall power improvement. Not to mention is sounds great!

Didn't affect the jetting at all. Didn't lose any power by installing the Spark Arrestor Turbine Core. Silencer is pretty sturdy, it stayed on even with bolts loose and/or missing after a pretty long trail ride.

Very Pleased With MotoSport

I ordered this silencer for what I thought was a 2008 KTM 300 XC. When the silencer arrived it would not fit. After a closer look at my bike, it was found that the top end was 2013. I had bought the bike used and the previous owner had told me this, but in my stupidity, I purchased the silencer for a 2008. I had neglected that my bike is a Frankenstein. Needless to say MotoSport was very helpful and promptly shipped the correct part. This all transpired within a week. I have purchased form MotoSport in the past with great results and will continue... Thanks MotoSport!

Good Pipe

Put it on a 08 KTM 250xcw.

Fit like a glove, Looks great, MADE IN THE USA!!!!

Only negative thing is that the little rubber spacer/washer things that go in where you put the bolts through to mount it are not included!! 4 bucks each from the OEM breakdown, now I'm another 16 bucks into it (tried to use the old ones on the new pipe and the rubber cracked) for these things and a few days later getting it installed correctly...For the time I was waiting, I used a rubber washer on each side which got me by.

I realize not many aftermarket pipes come with it, but I'd seriously rather pay another 10 bucks extra for the pipe and get them with the pipe instead of having to order it separate and wait another week.

Does what I needed it to which was be a spark arrestor and not crazy loud. I didn't notice a decibel difference from my Pro Circuit R304 but their probably is, just not significant. Works nicely with my DEP 144 pipe.

Easy installation! This bad boy will have you brappin' through your neighborhood 10 minutes after it arrives at your door. Lighter and much smaller than the stock exhaust off my four stroke slayin' ktm 250. Don't believe me? Let's race.

Is there a big difference between this and the powercore 2? And if so can you please list it.?

MotoSportExpert
The main difference is the Turbinecore 2 has a Spark Arrestor and the Powercore does not.

-Turbinecore 2 uses the exclusive "Turbine Dampening System". This top-notch product has well earned its U.S. Forest legal status. The straight through design of the spark arrestor canister and the performance flow stainless steel end cap ensures strength, durability and most importantly, track and trail proven unrestricted power. The Turbinecore 2 is the #1 spark arrestor in the world.
-The Powercore 2 is the measure which others aim for. With its lightweight extruded aluminum oval canister mated to a perforated core, this silencer is above the competition. The Powercore 2 silencer provides a strong performance edge for any 2-stroke machine and the performance flow end cap and front stinger are stainless steel for unbeatable durability and an unmatched look.

I have a 2000 kx 125 and im running the shorty with a fatty chamber. I want a different feel. Is the shorty Better for top end and powercore 2 bottom?
MotoSport Staff Expert
MotoSportExpert
There are two criterias to look at, performance and features. Using a Powercore or Powercore 2 silencer will give your bike increased throttle response, a lighter and higher quality silencer with that factory look and sound.

The Shorty will give you even more throttle response and low end power. Because it's smaller you'll see even more weight savings and a louder sound level. There are a few differences between the shorty and standard length silencers depending on the model. Remember though, with 2-stroke tuning what you might consider a slight/small change has the potential of being a lot bigger than one might think. With the shorter length can and altered core size, you decrease the amount of backpressure in the muffler, which on a 2-stroke will increase throttle response and low to midrange power. Some models may see a slight decrease in over-rev though with the Shorty.

It most likely will fit, however Toomey does not recommend using the Toomey pipe with any other manufacturer's silencer, because there is a possible power loss.
