FMF Megabomb Header - Titanium

Product Description

The science behind the MegaBomb header may be FMF's greatest engineering accomplishment to date. You can bolt on a MegaBomb for as much as a 3 horsepower boost, plus the MegaBomb actually reduces noise levels by as much as 1.5dB. The FMF MegaBomb header is yet another testament to the continued dedication of FMF to developing the best performing motorcycle exhaust components. Used by Factory Teams, the MegaBomb is the next level technology you can have today.

  • Produces long header torque and short header over-rev.
  • The larger midsection creates a larger surface area for sound dissipation to reduce the sound output by as much as 1.5dB.
  • Increases output from stock motor as much as 3 HP, alone.
  • Constructed out of FMF's exclusive Ti-Metal for an extreme weight savings with added durability.
  • Designed with a unique midsection, comparable to the Powerbomb header, that provides improved power across the power range.
  • The unique design of the MegaBomb header allows for better low end torque similar to a long header while also improving top end power much like a short header.
  • Although the MegaBomb header offers the advantages of a long header, the design of the MegaBomb header reduces the length and the chances of getting in the way or suffering damage.

Looks great fits great

Good power with correct jetting on my 08 trx450r. The pipe gets very hot but I'm just used to header wrap on my pipes. This thing is too cool to be covered up and turns puple after 2hrs.Not much over rev but plenty of low-mid torque

Great Header

I bought this header for my 2006 kx250f. It works great and the power is very noticable. The only problem I ran into was the installation. My kickstart lever was resting on the header when i pushed it in. I had to take it off and put it in a different position and then grind about 1/4 inch off the top of the lever. But besides that it is a great pipe.

Not durable

looks and works well until it breaks. Just went through my second one in two years. Is not durable and will be trying a different exhaust for a Honda 450r.

This product is amazing. I put it on my 2010 crf250r with a fmf q4, this is an amazing combo. It really Brought the bottom end up, and created alot more top end and over rev. Overall it is a great product.

Amazing exhaust header

This header is just everything you could ask for and more. It is simply the best money you can spend for a power increase on your bike. Besides its amazing looks, it WILL increase your low end power and torque by a very noticeable amount without sacrificing the mid and top end. Great overall pipe, makes your bike sound amazing too.

Great Add-on

To start off this pipe is expensive. I feel that i will get my money out of it. It performs amazing and adds tons of power with the Powercore 4. Ended up it runs perfect with my jetting so i left the jetting. I used it on a 2005 Honda CRF250R

I have a 2010 yz450f. Will this replace the entire stock exhaust besides the muffler?

This would just be the header pipe. It would not include the Mid-Pipe that is attached to the muffler.

Can i use DR.D muffler with it?

No. This FMF Mega Bomb Header is only compatible with FMF Slip-On Mufflers. It will not work with the DR. D Slip-On.

Hello i was wondering if this exhaust combined with the fmf Q4 would be loud?
I have an lrd exhaust and its way to loud so looking for something that is very quiet thank you

The Q4 muffler is one of the quietest mufflers available. It will be much quieter than your current LRD system. This header will work great with the Q4 muffler and will not add any additional noise.

I have a yoshimura exhaust I want to know if that work with the fmf megabomb header titainum??
MotoSport Staff
Over 11 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
If it is a Yoshimura full system exhaust then it will not fit for sure. If it is a Yoshimura slip on then it may work, but due to manufacturing tolerances between companies it will not be a guaranteed fit. Your best bet would be to contact Yoshimura for a replacement header, if it was a full system, or find another stock head pipe if it was a slip on for guaranteed fitment.

What jets should i use?
I have a 2013 Honda TRX450r with the FMF Megabomb Header and an HMF Competition Series Slip on exhaust, with a K&N air filter. What is the propper jetting for my carb?
MotoSport Staff
1 year ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
There is no "set" jetting for any particular bike. There are a lot of things to take into account when dialing in your jetting and can even change from morning to afternoon conditions for some models. I suggest purchasing a jet kit. This will come with various sizes and instructions to get you started in the right direction. From there it's all fine tuning unique to your scenario.

Will this fit a 1998 honda xr 400r?
MotoSport Staff
1 year ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Unfortunately, due to the XR400's header design, the Megabomb header will not work. The FMF Powerbomb header however, will work great on your Honda.

What comes with this?
Does this include the bolts and springs needed to attatch and keep this from moving or not?
MotoSport Staff Expert
if it needs springs it will come with them but no bolts are included
Over 3 years ago Location: Arco, Idaho
yes it will include the springs but if your mount its like mine your bolts should just have to place the mount inline and just use the stock nuts to hold it on then attatch the springs

What It Is

With an all-new YZ450F for 2010, many exhaust companies scrambled to make an exhaust system that both produces noticeable power gains and fits into the small, confined area allotted for the YZF's new "tornado style" header. The reversed exhaust design also made it difficult to incorporate FMF's signature MegaBomb header. To combat this, an entirely new MegaBomb was designed to attain the same effect and power increase as the traditional MegaBomb header. The entire system is made from titanium and designed to mount right up to the all-new YZF.

Installing the system is a breeze, as it mounts up seamlessly without any snags or wrestling to get it to fit. With the new system mounted up, the power increase was excellent. In stock trim, the YZ450F has tons of low- to mid-power but falls off and doesn't rev out up on top. With the FMF system installed, the YZF revved out much further, pulling each gear longer and farther. Down low, the power didn't suffer, and in fact, actually benefitted from the exhaust system, adding a small amount of pull while not gaining so much power that it was uncontrollable.

It hasn't affected anything, but the MegaBomb header sits very close to the shock, begging the question as to whether or not the heat will hinder the shock performance in a long moto.

The Verdict

I've been riding the new YZF a lot lately, and have come to really want more top-end out of the bike. The new FMF system answers my demands with a healthy top-end gain while still adding slightly to the low-end grunt. I'm pleased with the power and would likely recommend this system to anyone.
