Product Description

D.I.D is the number one motorcycle chain in the world. D.I.D chains are used by factory races teams from all manufacturers in race series everywhere.

The D.I.D ERT2 chain is the most trusted chain in Supercross and motocross racing because of its reputation of meeting the high quality demands that are required when pushing the limits. It was designed with the intention of making a chain that is optimized for the purpose of racing. D.I.D beefed up the ERT2 chain by increasing the pin size by 3% to give the chain an average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds. Increasing the strength of the ERT2 chain did not come with a sacrifice of weight, in fact DID was able to shed 5% from the previous ERT chain.

  • Exclusively designed for motorcycle racing.
  • High-performance, lightweight and low friction chain.
  • 3% bigger pin diameter and 5% lighter than former ERT.
  • Provides the highest wear resistance, tensile strength and impact resistance.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 430.
  • Rated for up to a 450cc motocross bike.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 2.99 pounds.
  • Includes a clip-style master link.
  • 120 links.
  • Notes: ERT and ERT2 Connecting Links are not interchangeable. Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

DID chain is a Great Performance enhancer

I bought this chain with a Tag Sprocket set. This chain performed excellent. Not as durable as the Renthal chain but definitely performed better. Of all the chains I have used, this one was definitely the fastest, just wished it would hold up a little better.

Looks awesome

stretch time is about the same as any other chain, resisted rust pretty good as long as you spray it down after your done washing your bike.

Expert Class on my 02'CR250R..

Follow factory service manual recommendations and this chain will last.! I always use it as it looks the best and works well I have about 40 hrs. on chain and sprockets and they are still going only adjust chain every few rides.. Its the cleaning and lubing that's what I do the most.!

Not what I was expecting...

I have 20 hours on the ERT2 chain and it's just about toast. Most "good" chains have an initial stretch and are good to go for a good while before it needs adjusting again. On initial install I moved the tire as far forward as possible before I cut the chain to length. At 10 hours I was able to remove 2 more links. That's how much it has stretched. This chain has never stopped stretching since it was installed. It now has tons of side play to the point it started wearing against the side of the rear mud flap and tire. For the price even though this chain is non O-ring. I expected better. My advise to anyone is go for an O or X ring. I've gotten more than twice the life out of those in the past and they cost about the same. Buying this non O-ring chain was a bone head move and I'll never do it again. ****For reference, I'm a 30 year old intermediate racer who maintains my bikes to like new condition at all times. All my riding is on national caliber motocross tracks. I pressure wash and lube the bike after every ride. The bike is a 2012 CRF 450 with 40 total hours at the time of this post, that I purchased brand new. My hour meter was installed before the first ride so my times are accurate.

Quickest shipping ever

This chain is your normal D.I.D. chain which is good for motorcross unless you want an o-ring chain but other than that I received it in 43 hours after submitting my order online. Holy schniekes fast!!!

Are all DID ERT-2 chains gold?
On this website http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/DID-520-ERT2-GOLD-CHAIN-120-LINKS/?catalogId=101393 it says DID 520 ERT-2 120L. Is that chain still gold or not? Thanks

Is the ERT2 compatible with 450fs?
The reason I ask is that DID's website says that it's for max CC of 250 but I see some guys here using it for 450s. Can some clarify this at all?

Gold?
does the gold mean it wont rust?what chain do you suggest for gncc/hare scramble type riders?

No, the gold will still rust if you dont take care of it. I race GNCC and I always run a X-ring chain. It is a little heavier but you dont have to adjust it very often.
Over 8 months ago Location: Budds Creek Maryland
I have the ERT2 on my 2012 CRF 450 and I would say go for something with an O-ring or X-ring. They last much longer. For hare scramble abuse I would not use a non O-ring chain. My recommendation would be the D.I.D VX2 or Renthal R3
