Cheng Shin paddle tire

I've had Cheng Shin paddle tires on my YZ 250 and like them a lot. I installed a 19" tire and rim on my Yamaha WR450F, which of course, takes an 18" rim and tire. The 19" Excel with spacers and the paddle fit great...no hitting the swing arm or rubber.

6 paddle tire on YZ 250

This is my 2nd Cheng Shin paddle. I have an 8 paddle on my WR and 6 on the YZ. Will give it a real good test in a few weeks at Glamis.

Bring it on

This was my first paddle tire and I bought another one. The first one was too big for my back-up bike (89 KDX200). However, I simply powered/scraped through and after about 30 minutes it worked fine. Better than fine...I was a hill climbing machine. Horrible in mud but I ended up using it everywhere and it gave me much more power. I put my second one on my KX500 and as you can imagine...braaap. I use the Sandy 4 for all around riding but if you are a dune rider it isn't fun without a paddle tire.

This paddle is great. I put it on my KX 125 and it got me through everywhere. Just dont ride in front of your friends because it sprays sand everywhere. Overall it is a great tire.

Love it

i have this paddle on my 05 crf450 and just got to try it out in glamis. it held lines well...tracked strieght...didnt bog the engine...impressive roost and held strong even in deep blow sand. the only issue i had was pushing the bike an hard surfaces. the rather large cup of the paddle made it hard to get it rolling however this happens with every paddle and doesnt reflect on the product itself. i would recomend to everyone looking for great handling in deep soft sand.

Balloon paddle tire

This tire is huge. It is tall and wide. I put it on my KTM 525 and with the axle all the way back it barely cleared the front of the swing arm and made contact with the silencer. I normally use a kings or sand pro and won't be buying this again. It is just to large of a tire for pretty much any application.

Great!

This tire is amazing! Used one on my cr 250 and it was unbelieveable how much better this tire hooks up than a knobby. Must have if you are going to ride the dunes!

Best paddle tire for 2011 yz250f 100/19-19?

I would recommend this 6-Paddle 100/90-19 for your 2011 Yamaha YZ250F. Really on any 250F you wouldn't want to run any more than 6 paddles. This tire would be perfect for you though.

Will the 10 paddle tire be better than the 8 if I've geared down my Husky TC 449?
MotoSport Staff

8 or 10 paddles can be more of a preference than anything. Your TC 449 would certainly be able to handle 10 paddles if you wish to run it. It may sound odd but the sand and weather conditions also play a factor if you are picky about your set up.

How many padles do i need?
how many padles do i need i ride a yz250 two stroke should i run an 8 paddle or a 6 paddle tire?
MotoSport Staff Expert
either one really... just remember sand rob a lot of power and makes the motor work harder. the more paddles you have the harder it is going to have to work to turn over more sand the less amount of paddles the easier it will be on the bike.

Will this fit my 06 kx 100 without adding links to my chain?

You will not have to extend your chain as long as you get the same size tire as stock.

What's a better tire, the Cheng Shin 6 paddle or the King 9 paddle?
I'm running a YZ250F and want to know if it's better to have a lower profile 6 paddle tire compared to an 8 paddle tire
MotoSport Staff Expert
i would go with the 6 paddle for a 250. it would be to much stress on your motor to run a 9. it would be do able but not reccomended

I have 06 kxf250?
im trying to find a paddle tire but i cant find a 8 lug paddle in a size 100/90/19 so will a 110/90/19 work with out tareing any thing up??

A 110 paddle will work on a 250f. You will want to shorten your shock guard as the paddles may rip it off. But other than that you will be fine

Paddle height?
is that from the top of the tyre ?

correct, from the center of the carcass.

Tyre height including paddles?
just after the overall measurement of the tyre including paddles to see if it will clear my swingarm. Even just the hielght of the actual paddle will help so i can add it onto the height of the profile of the tyre. Cheers
Expert MotoSport Staff

The actual paddle height is about 3".

Cut the paddles off?
I have a 04 crf 100. it is extreamly works and modded and i am going to drag race the bike I am wondering if i cut the paddles off this tire will it make a good drag tire
MotoSport Staff
Over 5 years ago Location: Por+land
I would not recommend cutting the paddles off this tire to make it a slick or drag tire.
I'd just go out on a low traffic highway and do a long break torque till' the tire's bald, you could do it on any tire
