Great product! Prefer the look much more than the stock tank and best of all I don't have a leaky 1/4 turn cap that comes on the stock tank that leaked allll the time. Only thing I did t like is how I had to file the diameter where the stock peacock gets mounted otherwise Id give it 5 stars.

tank fit like a glove seen other reviews on clarity not so good and leaks mine I had no issues very happy with the fit and looks I give it two thumbs up
Fits great and looks just as good. I should have went with clear but really like the stock look also.
Plastics, seat and petcock went on with no trouble,
I would absolutely recommend this to everyone I know.
Ordered tank and Motorsport got it here in 3 days, I opened box and the tank was a yellowish color, not translucent like I ordered. So I called them up to return it. No problem, so I was going on trip to desert on thanksgiving weekend, so I needed a tank asap. I went and bought an ims tank for my trip . I got back and the Clarke tank was on my porch all day and was a lot clearer ,so I left both thanks in the sun next day and the Clarke tank looked better,so I kept it and returned the ims tank.
I purchased a red 4 gal. Clark tank for my 2012 XR650L Honda and the quality and appearance was so poor that I sent it back. When I got the replacement a week later, it was even in worse shape. I contacted Clark and was told they new of the defects and were now selling those tanks for $180. I would not buy another one if they were half of that. I ordered a IMS instead. .. Installed on a 2005 YZ250F to get a little more gas storage for longer rides. The quality of the tank itself seems to be good so far and is holding gas just fine as opposed to some of the other reviews I've seen. My only complaints are that the alignment of the mounts to the frame are barely close enough to work, you almost need two people to bolt it down. Also, the plastic radiator shrouds had to be bent pretty far out of place to get them to fit as well. I had to bend them to the point that I believe they will probably turn white in those spots sooner rather than later. Satisfied with it for the most part.
I have an 05' YZ 250 and the stock tank cracked. I needed a replacement so I bought the Clarke tank. The tank looked pretty good but that's it. Once I bolted it up the radiator shrouds did not align properly that caused a bulge in the middle of the radiator shroud. I ended up having to drill a hole in my radiator bracket about a 1/4" lower to allow the shroud to bolt up with out a bulge. Looks good now but I had to customize it to fit. Not something I would expect from a company that has been doing this for years.
Receiving the tank I almost sent it back do to poor quality, But I decided to give it a try. Once I filled it with gas there was gas leaking on top of my motor. Further inspection shows extremely thin plastic that it looks like they use heat after the fact to get the shape they want creating very this spots, Filler neck also looks very porous where they machined the threads. My bike is a 2012 XR650l.
I would expect better quality for how long Clarke has been making these tanks for the DRZ400s. The petcock inserts were too close dimensionally, so I had to take a rat tail file to one of the through holes on the petcock to expand the hole enough to match with the tank. There are some minor imperfections from gas bubbles in some areas, but so far no leaks, but haven't filled it full yet. The little aluminum tab for the seat is leaves a bit to be desired also. I would probably try an IMS tank next time. This does fit with the Unabiker rad guards though, so I guess that is a plus.
Should have the gas to go the distance, out running all the other old guys in the woods.
The tank looks good and no leaks, but I spent a whole day getting it to fit right. The hardware that comes with the tank is a joke and I had to fabricate my own, the right side radiator shroud would not line up at the bottom so I had to relocate the mounting point. There is also a big gap at the lower base of the tank near the frame, I filled it in with sponge rubber to make it look better.
bought this tank for my 06 yz125, haven't had a problem out of it recently switched my bike over to a woods monster this tank looked sick on my yz!!!!
Nice fit no more worries long range.
Awesome tank great OEM color.. Put on my 2002 Yamaha yz250f... Only comes with tank and gas cap. No mounting brackets or hardware... Got my tank went to install and there was no gas cap!! I had a race the next day!! Called Motorsport and talked with Lori told her my problem and she was on it. So she over night a replacement cap since there were none in stock (Clarke) so she sent a better one at no cost!!! Acerbis carbon fiber style large gas cap!!!! Lori was the best, cause of her I made the race and placed 5 out of 40 racers!!! Thanks Lori and Motorsport!!!!!
First the tank fit great as well as looks great, easy instructions for prep and install. Priced right and so far works great. My bike is a gas hog probably because my right hand likes to twist as far as it can..... as usual Motosport was fast with getting it to me on time. Thanx to all at Motosport you folk's are first class. Here's a pic of my toy
Oh and thanx to my wife with tool's and beer she's an awsome beer assistant:)
I have a 2002 Yamaha WR250F. This tank bolts up to the bike, however, you need YZ shrouds and a YZ seat to fit the tank. I would not recommend this if you have a WR. If they say this tank will fit your bike, it should fit without having to purchase more parts.
