Works Perfect

I wore down my stock cover and needed to find a replacement. This one fit perfect on my 2008 KTM 300 XCW(e) and also came with a gasket. Can't beat that. I installed it in no time and had zero leaks. Just finished a 2 hr harescramble with it. No complaints.

Help me motosport.com

Bought this for my 2005 yz 125 and it looks amazing, and all the bolt slots fit perfect besides the 2 inner pin dowels that they never drilled holes for. I don't know how this could go wrong Motorsport always gets me the right parts?

Quality and Affordability at its finest!

Super great product from Boysen. This cover hits spot on in affordability and usability. When replacing the factory Yamaha clutch cover and on a budget, this is your product! Super ease of installation and quality construction makes this cover a no brainer when gearing up for the trail. Would highly recommend this product to even the Donald Trumps of the offroad world.

Does this cover come with all the bolts and washers?
4 days 2 hours ago
No, just a cover and gasket.

No. The Cover would come with a new gasket but you would need to use the stock bolts and washers to install.

Does it come with both sides?
i wanted to no if it comes with both sides of the clutch cover or i have to order 2
MotoSport Staff Expert
3 months 6 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This would only be one clutch cover. The cover on the opposite side of the engine would be the Ignition cover.
2 months 29 days ago
Just the clutch cover. If you want the other side its the ignition cover.

Has this item the bolt on top to add the oil?
MotoSport Staff
4 months 24 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Yes, for your 2006 KX450F this would have the oil fill port and will accept the stock filler plug.

Does it have a small window to check the oil level?
MotoSport Staff
Over 7 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This cover will not use a window for oil level checking. It has a removable check bolt which is used to verify oil height in the transmission. You will fill the transmission up until oil flows out of the check bolt hole.

Best thing to do in this situation is call your local shop or dealer and ask the mechanics if a '05 will fit on an '07.

Does this hold extra oil like the Hinson?
Expert MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: USA
this doesn't add anymore oil capacity than stock.

What tools do i need to install myself?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
Typically all you will need is a socket wrench. You may want to reference your service manual for more details.

Just depends on what bolts you have on your stock or current covers. You can use the same bolts. My clutch cover has 5/16 bolts holding it on and my ignition cover just had phillips head bolts. I bought a bolt kit incase I needed bolts for things like this but your stock bolts will work with these Boyesen covers. And then all you need is a wrench (5/16 or otherwise) or a phillips screwdriver.

This or stock?
they both cost about the same, which would be worth the money, this one or a stock one?
Top 100 Contributor
Over 4 years ago Location: connecticut
i would go with the boysen because it looks better and holds more oil in the clutch
Over 4 years ago Location: upper saddle river, nj
i think that this is a better deal because it stands out a lot more and looks better then the stock one. but they are both basically the same

I would go for the Boyeson over stock. They both have about the same durability, but the Boyeson cover looks so much better in both person and on the web.

1998 Suzuki RM250?
Does this cover the flywheel? Pic shows where I'm missing a cover?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Tualatin
no this is a clutch cover. if you need a flywheel cover you would need to get the Boyesen Ignition cover
Top 500 Contributor
Over 3 years ago Location: Spokane, Wa.
You can get a cover for both sides of your engine. The clutch cover is a bit larger than the ignition cover but I have Boyesen covers on both sides of my engine and they work great and are cheaper than other brands.

Little window?
On my kx250f I have a window on the cover and that is how i tell how much oil to put in. Does this cover have a window for the one thats for an 07 kx250f?
MotoSport Staff

No the Boyesen clutch covers do not come with the sight window but do have a oil level check bolt
Over 3 years ago Location: haines city
No it does not
