I think the tool could have fit better/moved less, then again it is universal.
It still did the job just fine.

Good tool, but needs modifications.

Fairly good tool, but if the tightening mechanisim, where the thumb/finger grip is, if it was changed to a bolt head it would perform alot better. Also more braces in the main structure. The tightening bolt where it presses the two halfs of the tool together seems to push them apart. Takes a few trys to get the tool just right to torque the clutch basket nut.

Gets the Job done!!

I used on my 2008CRF450 and It slipped off the first time I was using it, and then I realized I didn't have it tight enough. After tightening (more than hand tight), it worked fine!

Clutch hub holder.

It works ok. It has a firm grip but once you try and torque the clutch hub nut the teeth slide out of the grooves and slips off. It would work better if the fins that go into the grooves wher flat square shape it should work. The slight angle thats on it causes it to slip and not grab well.

Saves your hand

Works pretty well in holding the basket. Its a time saver and stops you from jabbing your hand. It would be 5 stars if it was model bike specific because I feel it would give a better purchase on the basket, but it works.

Bike master clutch tool

great tool and one of the few required to tear down a dirtbike engine. this tool also is required to get the proper torque spec on the nut thats under the pressure plate.

Needed for proper torquing

Did my first ever clutch and needed a way to hold the basket and crank to properly torque the nut. These did the trick. Was still a little tricky adjusting the jaws and they popped of on me at first so they only got 4 stars. Is there any other place for anything Moto???

Works great

just snug up the set screw. i changed my clutch basket by myself and this tool made it possible. the long handle can be positioned to brace against the foot peg to keep it from turning and use 2 hands to break the nut loose and on my torque wrench. no impact or air tools required

Simple design and works well

This clutch holder is simple and does the job well, works the best with a main gear stopper and an impact wrench. You'll be changing clutches in a matter of minutes! Make sure you don't over tighten or you risk damaging your inner hub. Sometimes an extra set of hands helps to keep the holder from slipping out of place. Either way, this tool works great.

Simple Necessity

I stumbled across this tool (THANKS Motosport) when I decided to replace my tired original OEM clutch with an EBC SRK clutch. I have worked on everything on wheels for a half century or so and thought that this tool was intended for those who have no imagination. WRONG!
The simplicity of design and well thought out engineering of this simple tool makes it worth several times the cost.
The damage you can do being creative will cost you a magnitude more than the cost of the tool.

Q: Will this work for a 2003 Honda CR85?

A: No, because the clutch hub on your Honda CR85 faces inward toward the engine it would not allow you to use this tool to hold your clutch in place. The hub would have to be facing outward for this tool to work properly.
Q: Does this piece specifically hold the inner clutch? Or just the outer basket?

A: This style is intended to hold the clutch hub, which is the inner portion once the pressure plate and discs are removed.
