Product Description

The Ultra Cell Knee Protection System is without question the most technologically-advanced Knee Protection System available. Several patented revolutionary design concepts come together in unison to create this System. The A.R.C. Cuff's ability to be totally adjustable for fit, yet remain rigid, along with a superior fastening design in partnership with Boa Technologies, a natural free-motion, rolling-gliding hinge, tibial plateau-capturing frame design, brace-to-boot tether attachment, and a full time-full coverage patella cup, sets this knee brace decades ahead of all the rest.

A.C.M. FRAME:

  • Anatomically correct design.
  • Carbon fiber epoxy Matrix.
  • Rigid and lightweight, impact distributing structure.
  • Materials: Carbon Fiber epoxy Matrix.
  • Weight: 1.6 pounds.

ASYMMETRIC-GLIDE HINGE:

  • Tracks the natural "rolling-gliding" motion of the knee joint.
  • Asymmetrical design allows each hinge to set properly.
  • Allows for automatic tibia alignment of lower frame.
  • Adjustable external regulator from 0 to 30 degrees.
  • Condyle shims for fine tuning fit.

A.R.C. CUFF:

  • Adjustable Retention Control.
  • Multiform rigid lateral support.
  • Built in Anti-Rotation connection.
  • Stainless steel retention strips.
  • Inverted adjustment increases lateral rigidity.
  • Thermo-Formed EV50 shock absorbent foam padding.

ANTI-ROTATION TETHER:

  • Links the brace to the boot, making them as one.
  • Transfers forces of a lower leg rotation.
  • Adjustable to suit each individual.

DUAL-INDEPENDENT SECUREMENT SYSTEM:

  • Medial Macro-Adjustment.
  • Superior security to strapping.
  • Boa closure system provides smooth even closure and no pressure points.
  • Quick release tabs.

TELE-TRI PATELLA CUP:

  • Telescoping Three piece design.
  • Easily removable.
  • High-impact Nylon 6 material.
  • Full range of motion coverage of the knee cap.
  • Thermo-Formed EV50 shock absorbent foam padding.

WATER RESISTANT:

  • Non-corrosive metals.
  • Non-corrosive composites.
  • Hand washable soft materials.

UNDERSLEEVES (Included with Braces):

  • Conically tapered cut to match the legs' natural contour.
  • Ventilated mesh promotes air flow; reduces heat build up by wicking moisture away from skin.
  • Flat stitched quad seam for a smooth, durable finish.
  • Durable fold-over elastic band.
  • The braces come with an Allen wrench for making these adjustments.

Ran me all!

I bought all three of the best knee braces, these, avs and the k700. These have the strange pull tie that they migrated too. I liked my old asterisk braces and used them for almost ten years. But, the mx k700 braces blow these away on form, fit and function. The asterisk braces make you feel like a robot, bulky and awkwardly tighten in strange places. The k700 braces, are very light and slim; barely noticeable after a few minutes of use.

Solid

First off I pulled them out of the box , wow ,looks awesome, there are heavy then most, fit good even though I fit in between a sm & med , my left knee has no acl & mcl, pcl has been replaced. here the kicker , I took a nasty get off hit the deck so hard broke my finger, rolled my wrist , cracked my fox 3 helmet. these knee braces did there job for sure. I will say do not tighten your boots straps up. bottom line is this braces work amazing if you have not so good knees, thanks have a blessed day

Good if you can afford a new pair every month

i bought these in early june 2012 and they lasted until september 2nd 2012 right up until i tore my acl while wearing these braces. when this happend the braces were in horrible condition and i maintained these accordingly as the manual said to do. But after the first month i noticed they were getting in worse and worse condition until the incident happend. so as the title says if you get a new pair every month or every race like the pro's do they're great knee braces but other than that they are junk and i have the sergery scars to proove it.

No Good For Me

I have used the original Cell braces for almost ten years and loved them, so when the Ultra Cell braces came out I was very excited to update. They seemed a bit bulky when I first tried them on but so does a lot of gear, so I put them away till I had a chance to ride a week or so later. I was very happy to find I could adjust them even with my pants on. The problems started as soon as I began to ride. The braces limited my range of motion and caused serious chaffing on the back of my legs. I tried to adjust them by starting from scratch but they just made riding a chore. I could not use my foot controls properly and had to remove the braces to even continue riding. When I got a chance to really check out the problem I found the Boa fasteners were contacting each other and that was limiting my range of motion. I found them to be a very poor design and chose to go back to my original cell braces which are no longer available. I sent in the original Cells for a refurbish. I would like to add that once again MotoSport was awsome in helping me deal with the situation!

Expensive, but worth it

Very expensive. but overall great product. Many adjustments too ensure proper fit. The added confidence and security make spending the money worth it. I have not "crash" tested these, and hope i never have to. but i feel they will do what they are designed to. Takes a little while to get used to riding with them. and kickstarting proved difficult at first. I would feel naked without them now.

Waste of money

Bad fitting, boa system is nothing special, fabric areas wore thru & ripped in no time, hard edges dig in everywhere, way too bulky. will be buying pod mx's instead

Great braces!

Comfortable, i thought i would notice them bugging my knees more than they do. Once you get them adjusted fitment wise you wont even notice them. Also once you get them fitted then you can put them on and pull them off very easily with the BOA system. The sizing chart told me i needed a large pair so i bought them and a friend bought some mediums. It seems i could have ordered the mediums and they fit me a better. So the sizing is a little larger than what they say, if your on the bottom end of the large chart i would say go with a medium pair. The knee cap has padding glued on the inside. It catches the lower portion so the padding is getting pulled off, they could have used a little better glue.

Great!

These are great knee braces! That being said, they are bulky. I have gotten used to them now (after 3 months). The quality is great and I love the BOA system. Makes it super fast to put on....

Overall pretty happy

My right knee was blown out 2 years ago, so I bought a pair of these to protect the repaired knee, and the good knee. I just got back from racing the Baja 500 with these braces: here is my review. Over a long period of time, blisters formed on my knee caps. I think the main issue is that my pants are too tight. The braces seem to offer great support. I do feel secure while wearing them. There is a fine line between having the adjustments too tight, and causing leg pump, or having them to loose, and not staying in place. The movement is very smooth and the range of motion is plenty for dirt biking and snowboarding. The knee part of the brace swivel which allows the perfect motion for shifting/braking. The connector to the boot offers great security. The bad thing is the bulkiness. When I first rode with these braces, my feet kept being tossed from the foot pegs. I finally realized that I wasn't gripping with my knees the same with these on. After an hour or so, I adjusted and now don't have that problem. I do notice that my feet slip sideways off the pegs still, its rare, but something that probably will always happen while riding with these. I ride a 450r, and with these braces it feels like I'm riding with a desert tank. If you already have a desert tank, it feels like youre riding a whale. Overall I'm pleased. It however, took me a few rides to say that.

I know these braces are great for Motocross. I can't say for sure on downhill skiing but I would imagine that they would be a great choice for you. I would recommend checking out Asterisks webpage to see more on these. http://www.asterisk.com/buy/protection/ultra-cell-knee-protection-system.html
