I have an athena high compression kit which i bought from here, but the piston broke and i bought a vertex piston to replace it. What i did not know was that for this cylinder kit i have, it is required to have a flat headed piston and not a dome head piston (which the vertex and nearly every other piston is dome head). so will this piston work with my athena high compression cylinder?
A: Normally we would not carry just the rings for Vertex Pistons but if you gave us a call at 888-676-8853 we could likely special order a set of rings for you. Or I would say you would need to order the ring set directly through Athena ( http://www.athenaparts.com/eng )
Q: Does this fit a 1995 KTM 250 EXC?
I have a 1995 KTM 250exc, will this piston fit? If not do you have one that will? DO you know the size of the exc 250 pisiton? Thanks
A: Unfortunately, No. This Piston kit is not made to fit your 1995 KTM 250EXC and I don't see that we have any aftermarket options for your bike. I have limited information on your KTM as our OEM parts finder for KTM only goes back to 1998. I would have to recommend you contact your nearest KTM motorcycle dealership for the correct piston kit for your bike.
Q: My Athena piston has an A on it. Are there option for this replacement top end?
A: This particular piston is only available in one size and is specifically for the Yamaha YZ125 & Kawasaki KX125 Athena factory cylinder kits. This would be for a 53.94 mm big bore cylinder. I would recommend taking a look at the Vertex or Wiseco Piston kit for your bike, these kits would have forged aluminum pistons so they would not require the "A, B, C" designation that the OEM cast aluminum pistons have.
