Good Buy

My stock cylinder was trashed. Picked up the Athena kit and after the simple install there was noticeable performance gains.

Top End Kit

Bought this kit for my YZ125 that I had blown up. It was super easy to install and got me back into the season without missing a race and the bike seemed to have a little more power also.

With the Athena head on my 1997 Yz 125, my 2 stroke pipe does not seem to fit the exhaust port at all, as it protrudes from the cylinder instead of mounting the header in the recessed port on the stock cylinder head. Do i have the wrong exhaust as all stock exhaust should fit?

Spark plug keeps coming out of the copper head. Never had this issue with the OEM head. What is causing this problem?

A: There is not a specific setting I could give you for jetting your bike. It would really depend on your location (altitude/temperature) and how your bike is running with the current jetting. Jetting can be very tricky, there isn't one setting that will work everywhere with every bike. I would recommend taking your bike to a local motorcycle dealership’s service department to have your bike properly jetted.

Q: Bore?
Is this the stock bore for my 2001 yz 125? It says that it is a 54 mm or a or a 54.4 mm how do I know which one I'm getting?

A: The Athena Factory Cylinder Kit for your 2001 Yamaha YZ125 would have a cylinder bore of 54 mm and a 54.4 mm STROKE which adds power without changing the displacement. Bore is the diameter of the cylinder, stroke is the distance the piston travels.
