Recieved mine black it stopped a leak with previous bolt with a much tighter fit and a large head to prevent any slipping of the wrench
The bolt is aluminum. The magnet likes metal. The inner's of the engine are metal. The glue holding the magnet in is very brittle. Any questions?
Just as stated a magnetic Oil Drain plug. I had no issue with fitment. The magnet is strong.
I was thrown off by the black color of the plug received. I think it was coated with something.
Over all it does it job of keeping the oil in.
when i screwed it in it only screwed in about half way then stopped, so i put some permatex on it to secure it, other than that it works
2008 VStar 1300 with a 10x1.25 mm thread. They had it when the Yamaha dealer didn't.
Well made and does what it is designed to do. I did drill a hole in it to safety wire it since the torque rating for aluminum is lower than the heavy steel non magnetic stock item.
The part number for the stock 2005 KX125 drain plug is 92066-1437. If your local dealer says that is the same part number for your 2008 than it will fit.
