Great add on but......

The brake line took away MOST of the mushy feeling my brake use to have. It looks great but this is the second line from Galfer I've seen that has gotten into the front rotor. My buddy bought this same line and first ride we looked down and the braided part had started making contact with the rotor causing it to have eaten away the clear coating and breaking the SS braid. What happens is the slack in the line will slide down the black tubing that you tighten down on the fork guard when the suspension compresses but it will not return back up to the handle bars. We were able to salvage it by rigging safety wire up on the line above the black tubing to keep the slack above the tubing and not below it. And now a few months later I bought the same line and forgot to safety wire it and it too got into the rotor. Both times we were able to salvage the line but still is a problem that needs addressed. Both bikes were 2016 kawi 450's. If we wouldn't have noticed any sooner the rotor would have ate through the line causing it to leak. All in all good product and looks good on the bike, just needs to have something to ensure this problem doesn't occur.

Seemed like quality but not like for like swap.

I sent this item back. The deal was great with the rear line thrown in for free. The problem I had was that it wasn't a like for like swap between the OEM arrangement and the Galfer. The front lines use a complete parallel setup which means it uses a longer banjo bolt and I read the longer bolts may hit the fairing at full lock. That combined with hose routing put me off.

Brakes feel 200% better

The bike had really bad brakes before, mushy feeling, maybe needed to be bled. But put these on anyway and the brakes turned into something better than expected for feel and lever travel. The banjos lined up perfect with the master cylinder too, they don't always do that, some require a twist, these didn't. 2 lines separate from each other go from mc to the calipers. Mounting was easy, length perfect.

CB700SC Front Brake Line Replacement

Replaced what I'm pretty sure were stock lines on a 31 year old bike. 1985 Honda CB700SC. Lines are the correct length and do not bind. Keep in mind that for this bike these lines bypass the T-junction entirely, which cannot be completely removed as it is part of the headlight support. So there will be a small section of unused hard mount, might make for a good secondary tool roll location.
Bleeding was a pain, which I am told is usual for a dual-brake front setup like this. Best to keep in mind it'll take a while, and require more brake fluid than you first think.
Stops much better now, though, and brake lever isn't mushy anymore. Well satisfied.

Must have upgrade for Drz400sm

I purchased front and rear Galfer brake lines and WOW!!! What a difference. This is the first bike I've replaced stock brake lines after 35+ years of riding. I was reading on Thumper Talk forum about must do upgrades, I was convinced to give them a try. These brake lines take a vague, spongey braking experience into a realm of great feedback and stoppie possibilities when ever you want. I was concerned with the brakes being too agressive for the dirt but with the great feel you get, it's vastly improved. As far as durability....we will see. But with the name Galfer behind it, I expect great things. Daily commuter and weekend rides

Decent lines.

Installation is easy and product fit the machine perfectly. Make sure to tighten the lines at the T though as they will leak if not. I don't think it's a factory standard to pre tighten the lines at the T

Great looks, longer than necessary

I bought these for a '99 ex500. Everything fit perfectly and works great. Only complaint is that both the front and rear are longer than necessary. The front by close to 3 inches and the back by an inch and a half. It doesn't cause the line to crimp, but shorter would look cleaner in the 500.

Brake performance increased slightly. The brake line is a few inches longer than the stock line. The brake line wanted to go behind the number plate, which started to wear into the protective coating on the first ride. Long story short ended up buying new cable guide which helped and rapped line in electrical tape to keep it from wearing any further.

Brake lines

These galfer brake lines really make a world of a difference when you put them on you bike. Its like night and day when it comes to the stopping power when you switch over to these. I have had them on my bike for the past 3 weeks and they have been just great, and the price I could not pass it up when it comes to buy the fronts and get the rear free. This was a really great buy for me
thanks

Just Buy it!

Bought it because my stock line had ripped and was leaking, even tho I was concerned due to controversial reviews on it. Mounting was easy, everything lined up well with just some very minor adjustments. It looks awesome on the bike, length was right, fit was good. Bleeding was a bear, but after some persistency and some aid from Thumpertalk, it bled just fine. I noticed improvements in the braking performance instantaneously! Awesome feel, power and modulation! Can't speak for durability yet as I only have one ride on it, but it seems solid! For the price it's well worth buying steel lines over stock!

The description is not at all accurate

"Kits are bike specific and are tailored to each bike for perfect fit." NOT TRUE. The front lines are made to fit a number of bikes. The line that jumps from the right caliper to the left is about 6 inches too long. This is by no means tailored to my bike and is far from a perfect fit.

Upgrading the brake system on my track bike. Swapped the OEM lines for these. They were a fantastic upgrade. I was able to brake much deeper into turns after feeling them out for a lap or two. Fitment was spot on, they look like what you would expect, and seem to have great quality. They should out last the bike!

Functions, but gets beat up

Works well, but had a very difficult time building pressure after the install, also looks pretty beat up after only about 5 hours of use, I will replace with OEM on the next one. It gets marked up quickly by the tube it slides though when the front forks compress, and marked up my front number plate a bit. As far as function goes, it works as intended.

Great feel

The lines I replaced were on a new bike. To stop was not an issue.
These lines allow you to feel yourself stop not just mash on something
like rubber until you see yourself slow and stop. The steel lines give you feedback and help you be a better rider. The pre-fit for my FZ 1 made installation almost too easy. If you like to go fast and do it well, you need these brake lines.
