The MotoSport.com JT Steel Chain And Sprocket Kit includes ONE Steel Countershaft (Front) Sprocket, ONE Steel Rear Sprocket, and your choice of ONE Premium 420 Drive Chain, each with the following features:

Sprockets / Chainwheels Included:

JT Sprockets is the world's leading manufacturer of aftermarket sprockets, constantly raising the industry's standards for quality and service. They are committed to supplying the most durable, best quality sprocket available in the marketplace worldwide. This is why they produce and sell more sprockets than all the other aftermarket brands combined.

JT Front & Rear Sprocket:

  • Made from the latest generation of computer design and control metal cutting equipment for maximum durability.
  • Rear sprockets are made from the finest C45 high-carbon steel.
  • Front sprockets are made from chromoly SCM420 steel alloy.
  • All sprockets are heat treated and hand finished to meet or exceed the highest possible quality standards.

Your Choice of Drive Chain:

D.I.D 420 Standard Chain - 120 or 126 Links:

The D.I.D Standard Non-O-Ring Chain is designed for low horsepower, smaller displacement mopeds, scooters and vintage motorcycles.

  • For machines originally equipped with non-O-ring chains.
  • Solid rollers.
  • Shot-peened parts.
  • High cylindrical and roundness accuracy.
  • Exacting tolerances provide low friction.
  • Pre-stretched.
  • Special alloy steel with extended riveted bushing "anti-kink" design.
  • Highest quality non-O-ring chain in overall combined performance.
  • Average tensile strength of 4,200 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 100.
  • Includes clip-style master link.
  • 120 or 126 links.
  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

D.I.D 420 NZ3 Gold Chain - 120 or 126 Links:

Pinning your bike out of every turn might tear apart the stock chain, but D.I.D and their 420NZ3 Gold chain will not let you, or your race for first, down.

  • For machines originally equipped with non-O-ring chains.
  • Solid rollers.
  • Shot-peened parts.
  • High cylindrical and roundness accuracy.
  • Exacting tolerances provide low friction.
  • DHA pin treatment - hard chromium-carbide layer formed on pin surface for exceptional strength and wear resistance.
  • Pre-stretched.
  • Special alloy steel with extended riveted bushing "anti-kink" design.
  • Highest quality non-O-ring chain in overall combined performance.
  • Up to 19% higher tensile strength; average tensile strength of 4,780 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 410.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 1.81 pounds.
  • Includes a clip-style master link.
  • 120 or 126 links.
  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Renthal 420 R1 Chain - 120 or 130 Links:

Renthal's R1 Works Chain is a high-strength non O-ring chain with excellent impact load resistance designed specifically to withstand the stress found in off-road applications. This chain is the choice where a combination of high strength, light weight and maximum power transfer are important considerations.

  • Shot-peened alloy steel side plates for high tensile strength and maximum impact load resistance.
  • Chamfered inner links to reduce the chance of chain derailment.
  • Extended bushings to reduce friction between outer and inner link plates, maximizing power output.
  • Chromized bearing pins for excellent resistance to wear.
  • Gold color side plates help prevent corrosion.
  • Most perfectly matched chain for Renthal sprockets allowing maximum power at the rear wheel. This also extends the life of both the chain and sprockets.
  • Average tensile strength of 4,271 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 300.
  • Maximum displacement (street / off-road): N/A / 150cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 1.76 pounds.
  • Each chain includes master link and a pair of latex gloves for mess free installation.
  • 120 or 130 links.
  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Only reason didn't rate all that high is I like the jt sprockets and.being steel. But I didn't like the did chain wish I would have gone with better chain. We only got 1 ride outta chain and threw in trash can. Upgrade to better chain is what I would recommend.

Wears like IRON

2700 Miles of rocky mountain singletrack, high desert blasting, Moab, and sprockets are probably 40% worn. I've adjusted the chain once. I don't race, so I decided to trade some weight for durability on the rear sprocket, and saved some money while doing it. Got the sprockets and an o-ring chain for an excellent price and believe I will go with the 'cheap, heavy, durable' sprockets and a nice sealed chain from now on. If you have a KTM, front sprocket thickness is important to maintain pressure on the countershaft o-ring, so a thicker o-ring may be necessary.

Good chain good price

Only chain and sprocket kit I could find for a 300ex. It didn't disappoint though. It was a good quality set at a very affordable price. Very Happy with it. I'm sure it will last as long as the oem one.

Replacement sprockets

Descent deal means not the highest quality but if you know how to take care of the bike, adjust the chain, lube the chain make sure the rub plate and guide etc are ok, then it'll hold up. My use motocross racing didnt have a problem just needed a cheap set at the time.

Good Stuff

I like changing out my sprockets and chains at the same time. This set and the other selections like this make it easy. I went with steel for longevity. So far no issues - all is good.

Works Well

THe JT steel chain and sprocket set works well...the sprocket is a little heavier (of course) that the aluminum models, but it has also worn very little in the last 6 months. Fit well on a 2008 KX250F

Wouldnt buy again

i bought this thinking it would be perfectly ready to install, nope, the chaon that it comes with was wayy to big. I had to go out and buy a chain breaker and after i broke some links it came down to one link, it would either be too big or too small so now the quad is just sitting waiting for a new chain...

Q: What chain do I need?
I ride a 2006 honda 400ex. I ride trails in the forest and occasionally come across mud and water. Trying to decide if I need x-ring, o-ring, or standard.

A: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use. For you I would recommend the sealed O-ring chain. The X-ring technology reduces friction by 50% over standard O-ring chains for minimized power loss. Feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

Q: I want to go up to a 15 tooth front sprocket but I'm unsure what size rear sprocket I should run with the 15 tooth?

A: The correlation of front to rear is 1 tooth in front is equivalent to 2.5-3 teeth in the rear. So if you go up in the front, go up in the rear to get back to close to stock gear ratio.

Q: Sprocket kit for 2007 Yamaha XT225?
2 years 7 months ago
I searched for it and a kit comes up with a note that it won't fit my bike. Why even show it? Is there a front sprocket for my XT225 with 16 teeth instead of the stock 15? I want to make this a road bike. If I also change the rear to have one less tooth will that kill the power too much? thanks, augie

A: Unfortunately, It does not look like we carry any aftermarket sprockets for your 2007 Yamaha XT225. As far as the gear ratios when changing sprockets a good rule of thumb would be going up 1 tooth on the front is about the equivalent to going down 3 teeth on the back. Going down just 1 tooth on the back will only make a slight difference in the bikes gear ratio so you shouldn't loose too much power there. As far as the different size sprockets for your bike I'd recommend giving us a call at 888-676-8853 and we could possibly see if there are any sprockets we can special order for your bike.

A: Unfortunately we do not have a 12 tooth available for this kit when referring to a 2006 Honda CRF450X. We may be able to special order a 12 tooth countershaft sprocket from JT if you wanted to contact us.
